Jarcho's Class Compilation

Update v1.3
  • Updated the Lady Knight to v1.02
  • Updated the Paladin to v1.08
  • Added 10 new animations for the gender mod, there are still some missing though.
  • Fixed some of the FOmar particles from confilcting with originals
  • Removed the Stealthassassin to avoid the problem with using the champions mod
  • Fixed various skills that were broken in their original mods. (thanks to all who've reported them)
  • Integrated the pets and tier3 addons into the actual mod

This is a simple mod that merges a whole bunch of classes together, hopefully without introducing new issues.

Changes made on top of all these classes:
  • Made icons for Stonebrother, Shaman, Paladin, Ice Queen and Sorceress
  • Edited icons for various classes to make them cleaner
  • Made new icons for the demonic gloves and boots
  • Made icons for the Assassin's wardrobe
  • Axe of sacrifice is sold at the general merchant (no more demonic merchant)
  • Sorceress only starts with fireball
  • Nethermage now uses the Darkrune Alchemist wardrobe by Theo89
  • Some others I can't think of right now

Known problems
  • The Demonologist and Spiritdancer classes both take a long time to load. (roughly 30 seconds)
  • A small number of extra items from other mods may cause a wardrobe malfunction. (you still have some room)

    For no particular reasons whatsoever, I'm rather curious to know what you mean here :P I glanced through just now (appointment in a bit so no time for a closer examination), but nothing jumped out at me yet.

    I had to dump some of the weapon variation's for the monsters and cut down the number of items Razail took up. You should dl the updated version to check it out.

    The town layout and quests were also changed to reflect the missing Razail's.

    I sort of ran into that myself when making 1.05. Luckily, I had an easily expendable mod that unnecessarily bloated it. I basically made mod that replaced the entire second tier with items called Exceptional rather than Epic, and added a third tier of Elite items ;) So I just scratched that and everything was fine again.
    It definitely made me consider reworking certain parts of the Champions Mod so it doesn't hit the masterresourceunits.dat.ADM file as hard.

    and cut down the number of items Razail took up.

    This sounds awesome! But... there are conflicts with, for example Fury and Vanquisher. If I remember correctly the Fury skills can/will override some of the Vanquisher skills. Have you checked for other similar issues?

    I'd hop right on this in a second -it sounds awesome - but I need to think about my changes to the Demonologist class... I made him a her. :)

    Nice compilation but when its installed I cant switch pets. Any Ideas?

    Edit: the uh. pet addon you added doesnt do anything at all for me either

    Wow, a **** change, I sure hope for his.... um.. her sake that you didn't **** that up. Anyways, most of those have been fixed save for maybe a few particles.

    Those weren't actually packed with the class so that would explain why I never saw them, it might just be a good idea to leave a link there though.

    Yeah! She looks pretty good, too. :) I used paint.net to switch the standard body model to black and white, added mild glow effect, then recolored her lips and added a red gleam to the reflections in her eye. :) Oh, and I use fiery copper for her hair color.

    Then all I had to do was change item references and voice overs.

    Another stupid question (sorry Im new to the whole torchlight modding thing) Installed your mods, the characters and pets work fine together and look great. but If I close down the game and load it again I get (what I think is a common problem) where the characters look naked and have shoulder armor over their faces. What causes this? How can I fix it?

    Edit: never mind, I took out your tier 3 mod and it works now. is there any workaround to this whole "too much **** in the mods folder causes graphical issues" issue?

    There seems to be a problem with how much room all the item's combined can take up and there's nothing I can do about that limit. Also, if your "masterresourceunits.dat.adm" is too large, it doesn't seem to load correctly (after the first launch).

    I've seen weird things like it cleaning out all the "[WARDROBE]" and "[/WARDROBE]" lines out of the "masterresoureunits.dat" file on the second launch, which does mean the game is changing the file after the first launch, which it technically shouldn't have too.

    As a quick'n'dirty workaround you could try clearing out some of the items you won't use out of the third tier and see if that helps.

    Just out of curiosity, are you using other mods/addons. If so, which ones.

    Well, Rezail is fine, just killed some of her clones and stole their armor. I was quite the gentleman to the real one, don't worry.

    Just some random tweek mods nothing that seems like it should be too intensive
    the respec mod, potion stack sizes, balanced sale prices, better quest rewards and no enchant wipes.
    then out of your compilation everything but the tier 3 items. those seem to just push it over the edge.
  • Hi sir Jarcho, I saw that you had integrated an Item Tier3 mod within your JCC mod. Could i also install another set of itemtier3 mod w/c is available at Torchleech recommendation lists?
  • Give me a tip please, How do i get rid of the Wardrobe Malfunction during the second launch. See i got a prob about the ladyknight when using the skills that make her crash then restarting game then afterwards seeing that all characters wardrobe are no where to be seen. Help Please like your MOD though i found out that using itemtier3 is the culprit in this Wardrobe Malfunction.

Remove JCC - Itemtier3 addon and install Tier - 3 Ancient Items (available at torchleech) case solved. It has all JCC unique ancients too. and to lessen the megs you would use on those mods. just remove all the normal Tier3 items so you could save some megs.

    I enjoy this compilation quite a lot, altough I have some problems with it.
    First I had this awful wardrobe malfunction, but I could solve it the same way as inmycoffin did.
    Now I'm using the Barbarian, but his skill "Defender" (Block and parry + Defensive spell mastery) simply doesn't work. I did not post it in Gale's thread because he hasn't been on the forum for months. Hopefully somebody can help me. :)


    PS: English is not my native language, so don't judge me too hard for the mistakes i make/made. ;)

    Jarcho are you going to do a update on your mod? The Paladin has had several changes. Also if there are no glitches and mixture of meshes, I'll download and use it. Right now I'm using Torchleech to switch classes.

    I'll update it when I'm done fixing a slight, probably unnoticeable, particle mix-up and finished doing animation work for the Paladin class and CCCenturion gets it updated to include them. You probably won't run into any problems unless you use both the third item tier addon and the champions mod, even then you only have to clear the mod cache every time you launch (and wait awhile for it to load).

    You can also fix the lady knight **** up by going to the lady knight character file in "JCC - Class Lady Knight/media/units/players/ladknight" (or something close to that) and change the mesh file line from "ladyknight" to "vanquisher" (The line should be near the top). You'll have to use the vanquisher's mesh over the altered ladyknight mesh, but you won't notice once you equip armor.

    Yeah, it works. Just make sure to remove the third items tier from it.

    I just ran on to this, you have some item at your tier3 addon that made the wardrobe malfunction. I completely removed that addon and installed the tier3 download at torchleech and it fixed the problem and good thing is i can loot those items without any wardrobe conflicts.

    Thx for the fast reply.

    I found one Bug. The weapon of the troll pet and Krag pet will be removed if you use the Pets inventory the first time...
    Any idea to solve that? I remember that the other Pet compilation had solved that issue.

    you could manually update those classes. Just be sure to put all the files on the same directory. Example: Paladin 1.05 files are located on the ff folders \JCC - Class Skills - Airbender, Paladin and Sorceress, \JCC - Particles and Missiles and \JCC - Main

    Yea, I'll get to updating the mod when I get home ('bout 2 weeks). Should be fairly obvious where all he stuff goes;
    • the particles and missiles folder is for what it's labeled (second one is for just the Spiritdancer)
    • the class skills folder holds the named classes skills, skill affixes and the player unit file
    • the main folder holds everything else.
    It's separated to reduce the time it takes to select the characters for the first time (normally it takes a couple of minuets). For some reason, the games seems to check for the skills the selected class uses, as well as all of the files those files reference, and those files reference and so on... basically it manually checks in some weird way even though they are all in memory already.

    Inmycoffin, did you actually equip any of the armor from the third tier. As far as I can tell, you shouldn't be able to see any of the meshes from those armors on any of the custom classes. I can't check right now as I don't have Torchlight installed, nor do I feel like manually installing it right or going though all of the work right now of checking it in TorchED (read: I'm lazy and on vacation).
