[WIP] -Mod- More Shields & Weapons - TL2 (9/12/2012 update)
Took a few minutes and tried 'set smooth', which did not do a thing to the model... probably the way I created it...?
I am honestly not too concerned about the items being a bit blocky. I could increase the poly a bit, but overall with the in-game scaling it shouldn't look too bad while playing, especially versus my poor texturing skills. Thanks for the tip though, as it would have been nice to have really good looking models with very small poly counts.

Have you been using mudbox for this one? :O
I don't know what else you could do to make the models less blocky, I usually use 6-8 polys around to make shafts and use the polygon smoothing tool (whatever it's called in Blender) to round them, that's enough to make the models look nice.
Also, using the smoothing tool creatively helps make the weapon look better, for example, the grips would be one smoothing group, the shaft another, the blade would be another, the blade's edge another, etc.
I'd link to what I mean but I'm sure you guys are sick of my models already
Well, just in case xD
