Reactivation required

Hallo,

Yesterday i changed my Hardware, and now T2 sais I have to reactivate T2. But I cant find such a function. Can someone help me plz?

I have the retail version.

  • TL2 needs to be activated as the 1st time.

    TL2 key is bound to your hardware, if you change it, it"s like you install the game on another computer.

    The activation button should be in TL2 launcher.
  • I know that my new hardware is like a new pc, but there is no option for reactivating. I installed the game new and befor i cleaned folders and registry. Nothing changed.

  • Having the same exact issue did not even change hardware simply upgraded to Windows 8

    I have the same issue as you. I have no hardware change either except a new wireless adapter and wireless keyboard:D. Upgraded my Windows from 7 to 8 and have been stuck at the Reactivation Required screen since. I opened a ticket in the Runic Games support site, a support tech gave me an executable (TL2LicenseReset.exe) but that didn't solve the problem. Upon running the executable a message showed on the console saying "Untested windows version 6.2 detected". When I launched the game again the Reactivation Required screen still appeared with no place to re-enter the product key...

    I'll report back if I can get another reply from the support site tomorrow.

    Hi there. I saw this ticket the other day. We're still looking into the problem, but we're not exactly sure about the cause yet. Sorry for the wait!

  • Hi, same problem here torchlight 2 wants to reactivate it. Without any control to do this.
  • I've tried that license reset thing and it did not work for me either, here is the response I provided to the tech support.:
    I just tried the steps above and on step 3 it still says the license needs to be reactivated.

    note: on running the TL2LicenseReset.exe file it says "Qt: Untested windows version detected 6.2" though it shouldn't be a problem as Qt is only a UI library...

    also ran the software in compatibility mode, with and without admin privileges to no avail.

    It may be a problem with it.

    If devs don't respond that doesn't mean they don't care. They must work on it internally.

    Qt is not just a GUI library, it can handle network, database and some scripting.

    You may search for the same error but on other games on Windows 8 just to know if it comes from OS or Qt or anything else.

    Same problem here, would be nice to upload & link the .exe which resets the license
  • Also, the Qt note only says that it has not been tested on the current version of windows and nothing else so I don't think its a big deal.
  • I have the same problem, just change the motherboard.
    I sent 3 tickets and nohay response time.
    Anyone know the solution to the problem?
    I can not play.

    So here we are in July and still no fix?

    I just changed my mother board and video card... now I also need to re-activate with no means to do so. Nothing in the knowledge base and no solution provided at all.

    I've uninstalled (wiped all reg entries and folders), redownloaded and reinstalled with the same issue. Runic, help please...

  • Same issue here after upgrading my PC (new CPU, Mainboard, RAM).

  • having the same issue. i emailed support and they gave me the manual key cleaner.exe file. it's been a while and still no reply with my authorization code yet.. been dying to play for almost a week now :(

    I had almost two-year break from the game. I have changed most of my PC components in meantime (motherobard, CPU, GPU, RAM. Today I logged in, downloaded full installer, installed, downloaded patches, hit PLAY button... and I saw window with "Reactivation required". Send a ticket to support. Can't wait to play!
