Agreed, needs to be a limit on how many times you can enchant something or raise the requirements.

there is a requirement, it's called price, a gun with that many mod probably costs 10k-20k per enchant. Assuming he has enough gold, it is totally possible and legit to get this any weapon to have insane dmg through enchant. i enchanted the same type of lvl 7 gun on my vanq to around 600 dmg before lvl 20 on normal mode. and that's where i spent most of my gold on, everything else like armor i just pick up the best thing i can find on the ground.

I got this one. It's the best "off the ground" weapon I've found so far. It's almost as good as the ones I've enchanted.

Wish it was called "The Devil's Reject" or something snazzy like that. Hahaha!

Whichever mastermind dev thought about having the screen SHAKE on crits should get fired, you shouldn't punish people for getting good items. You can't possibly stand more than 5 minutes playing with this gun.

If anyone wants it I can upload my shared stash file, see for yourselves.

irt the guy above me: i had this gun at over 600 dps at lvl 10, just spend all your gold(literally) on enchanting the weapon. I don't even use hp or mana pots, sell those for gold too :p I am still only lvl 17, everything including orange mobs gets 1 shot at very hard hardcore^^

Maybe you shouldn't be jealous and bash on people with greater understanding of the games mechanics.

(yes there is a way to avoid having all your enchantments removed)

Like alt+F4 when enchants are destroyed? :P

No, he hacked the % value for the chance to have enchantments removed and set it to 0, probably did it for shrines as well. Then he duped a bunch of items through the vendor exploit, sold it all, and used the money for enchants. What he seemingly fails to realize is that it is physically impossible to be level 17 and have enough money to put the number of enchants on there needed for this gun to exist. By the time you had enough gold, you would by necessity be a higher level. As in, there isn't enough gold in the game for it. But oh well. He's far from the only one. The second post from the OP is an exploited, non-legit weapon as well. As is the last one posted above me, and a number of others. Sorry guys, but I know how much gold drops per level, and there isn't enough for you to have spent the 90k needed to get the weapons you're showing, or, in many caases, 200+k. I just hope you were smart and duped up to PGems first then sold them, to increase your rate of income. Have fun with your weapons, play however you want to play, but I know as well as you that it's not legit. Oh, and no, duping is not a "better knowledge of game mechanics".

I would contribute to this thread, but y'all would be substantially underwhelmed compared to some of these beasts. Just wish there were a way to have separate threads- one for legit items, and another for these monstrosities.

Edit: Zephyr's is a perfect example. 20k Enchant? In what fantasy world? Not Torchlight, that's for sure. Because assuming each enchant was only 1,000 gold (it wasn't, but we'll pretend, sure), that's 20 enchants. Assuming it came with sockets and none were wasted on those, and that only 1/10 was a "no result", which is unlikely, that leaves 18 enchants. Let's assume of those 10 mods, 4 were already on there when you got it from gambling. As a ilvl 18 item, let's put +physical at about +33 initially. 6 of those 18 enchants go to adding the remaining mods. That leaves 12 enchants left to enhance existing mods. As there are 10 mods, that's less than 2 per mod. Even assuming you give it +50 physical per enhancement (yeah right), it just doesn't work out! That's not a 23k item, that's a 230k item. And, yes, it's impressive. It should be. But it wasn't obtained through normal gameplay, and most Certainly not for 20k...

Its not impossible to get a high dmg weapon without explointing.
Thats my weapon, i am upgrading it since lvl40, that was 20lvl before (1-2lvl per "run", ~50k per run...25k of that for the weapon each time i got to town, id say it was at least 200k) and still a upgrade is only about 7k and started on lovely 600:D
I have to admit i was damn lucky with the stats but there was no rerolling trys involved or something, though the last 4upgrades were bothersome and i really dont want to try my luck any further:D

The weapon started with 1socket and 4crit on it:D

Image

ps: im playing with epic map mod and the unique item vendor price 1.1...if u consider that cheating the weapon isnt legit too^^

Yeah, it's MORE legit than most, but you miss the point- you readily admit to having poured the majority of your gold into this weapon from level 40-60 in the infinite dungeon. People are claiming they have produced better than this at level 20, that's where I cry, well, not legit. But no, I still don't consider it "legit", because the epic map mod (If I understand it correctly) ups the difficulty of the maps, but also substantially increases the loot received, so your weapon would not be representatitve of one able to be obtained through normal (unmodded) gameplay, as you wouldn't have as much money to spend on it. Not to say you didn't earn it, and don't have every right to be proud of it, just that it is not fair to compare your weapon to those playing the game as-is, it's not an accurate comparison.

I'm still on my first playthrough and my Vanquisher is currently at level 65.

I just found the unique rifle earlier. I probably won't use it but I am planning on keeping it in the bank. I originally had a 2100 dps bow but it broke (my first time losing item enchants; you can imagine how shocked I was  ) and I quickly re-enchanted the bow up to 2000 dps after selling off most of my bank inventory. No cheats or hex editing involved, just a lot of dungeon grinding for gold.

I'm also in the process of trying to enchant a 2nd bow/rifle to 3k dps, but I decided to abandon a level 22 bow for its item costs and my Black Fist Arqebus broke twice after hitting 1k dps.

I don't know if this will get "the cheater" flag set, but in the settings.txt there is a setting

NO CAMERA SHAKE :0

If you change the 0 to a 1 it should stop the camera shake. I have not tried it to confirm.

I also found that unique, but without the 'Epic' in front of the name. :D It's doing 511 DPS with a bit less Knockback (and Phys.), but then again, the required level is also around lvl20. I love that gun :) I'll post a pic later.

Pretty much the best I can get, spent around 80k on enchanting after buying it off a blacksmith. :?
I'm afraid to do more enchants because I know my luck won't last forever, and I've already lost all enchants on my previous weapon.

Just finish the game on normal level. This is my best weapon.

Image

Not that impressive but what makes it really good is its range. I can shot everything on the screen if the line of sight is clear.
Just like a sniper. It's really fun. But the upgrade cost is very very expensive. *0*

Yeah thats pretty much why i mentioned it, though as i fought another time about it i dont think that the epic map dungeon is cheating on the money.
It does neither change the money u get from a mob nore does it change the exp u get.
So its the same number of mobs to get to 60as without it, of course it can or cannot be faster to reach it, the reason i play like this is both, i think its a bit faster (though im dying kinda often if im watching tv and "grinding":D) but also, of course, harder and more fun.
What surely makes an impact is the sell price mod, especially on this first vanq i sold many stuff.
Now im leveling the second on vh and getting near 60 i rarely sold anything but got the Midas Riches set and my +money talents and its getting me a lot of money. I think im gonna make a vid later on wasting lots of it on a new weapon:D

Until then heres a nice option i found to use as 2h weapon for enchanting, as you can see on the screenshot the first enchantement only costs 739gold (since its set but RARE set item).
The stats are random so its not so easy to get a grip to one with decent stats on it, but the merchant sells them...:D
Combined with another part of the set (wich has to get good stats too of course:))its a viable option and gives a nice amount of extra live, the weapon itself is the same as any other rare weapon but purple:)
Image

Not that impressive but what makes it really good is its range

Dunno if you know, but you can shoot max distance with every skill ( a little beyond what you can see), and you can and should use mostly skills ->its nothing more than a weapon wich looks better than it is because you can get a far better weapon with some cheap enchanting.

Enjoy while you can. I bought my game through Steam, and it looks like the Enchanter nerf already hit me. Lost my main weapon, nerfed another with only 1 enchant on it. It's in the list of things changed in the patch.

I duped items for money, saves time. It is possible dispite bugs to keep it interesting and not enchant some POS item just for stats. I made it a personal rule never to enchant anything above 2 times and keep gems handy.

Lucked out more health stealing and an extra socket. 40k
