What stats affect traps?

For example the fire trap... what stats boost the damage.

As far as I know, only levels do.

None. That's why traps are totally useless on very hard, or even hard difficulty. Sad.

Well my lvl1 fire trap is owning everything on Hard difficulty...

Hmm i belive Weapon dps affects Traps . I wanted to make a topic about this but i see that someone allready made it . In theory if you use a Fire Trap every Fire Damage / Magic Stat should help . Still i have to make more tests because i realy whana make a Trapper , reminds me of Trap Sins ;) . So any info about Traps anyone ?

How about secondary effects... +X% Physical, +X% Magical, +X% Ranged, and Dual Wield Mastery?

Also +X% Lightning for the Shock Trap, +X% Fire for the Flame Trap and so on?

some one stated that the difference between a 0 dps weapon and 500 dps weapon is non existent on traps.

AHA!

MAYBE they count as minions... go ahead and try stacking Pet Damage to see if that works.

Yeah, good point. I remember reading that in data files there were various associations between the vanq trap and pets being called. I didnt' put 2 and 2 together until just reading what you said. The obvios (if it's true) was right there the whole time and I didn't see it.

If this works (unfortunately I can't test it since my level 23 trapper is dead hardcore) then I owe you an e-beer. If not then it was an interesting thought at least. Posting in thread so I can keep track of it if anybody tests it.

Extensive testing has already been done in the following thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1713

Midway through, there's a post about how there was no difference in trap damage regardless of the level of Pet Mastery.

+% pet/minion damage doesn't seem to work. I just put +40% on my trapper/marks hybrid (maxed Flechette and Lightning traps) and saw no damage increase on the traps at all. :( It's hard to tell with Flechettes because their damage is all over the board anyway, but Lightning Trap damage was very stable.

Well...

Does Flame Trap affect Flame Trap? Just making sure since nothing else does... 'Cuz if it doesn't that's a 1 point only skill.

How about Dual Wield, since it seems to affect weird things?

I think traps are intended to be independent of everything else, so you can create hybrid builds.

I've used a one-pointer Flechette Trap for a while now (currently level 30) on my Venomous Dirks Vanq, but I'll probably need to invest more to keep using it from now.
