Newbies? You taking on more bods by any chance? A Runic team expansion could only mean a good thing. Intresting... ON, on and up for Runic!

I've seen the vids on you tube and what Runics offices looks like, after all these years of playing Diablo - I get to see some of the faces that made that game, (Max and Erich Hi guys!) and now Torchlight.

Didn't know where to post this...hope the developers and decision-makers get to see it.

I think Torchlight is awesome. My only gripes are that the armor should be more like "hard" metal and not move like cloth and that the body of the barbarian is disproportionate. The short legs and oversized torso looks too cartoonish i think. I have a group of friends and online friends who usually buy a game if i suggest it...i showed them my barbarian and the proportions made it a no-sell for most of them.

I think you can appeal to a broader demographic if you made the barbarian more "normal" looking.....if he had Brinks proportions it would be great. The weapons and armor and shields are so awesome looking....but the body makes them seem less so...especially the short legs.....seems a waste to make so many great looking items only to have them seem childish when equipped)

Please change this with a patch or in an expansion. (i realize i am only only one person...but considering the feedback from my friends i believe youre losing many potential buyers as i'm sure there are many D2 and titanquest ex-players who prefer a more "adult" type of look to their character....perhaps you could offer a choice of physiques when creating a character...normal short-legged and normal proportions :D )

P.S. A more mirrored, polished look on some items, weapons, and armor would be a nice addition as well.

Well, this isn't really the right place for your issue, but I think one of the main things that is a huge sell point for this game is it's moddability. Currently, there are a few people working on learning just how to replace the default class models with other models, animations, etc. If your friends are holding back only because of that one feature....then either learn to mod, or make a mod request...i'm sure at some point, there are going to be a LOT of class model replacement mods. That's the beauty of this game, the fact that there IS so much we as Runics customers can do to customize the game to our liking.

Tell your friends to join up on the Runic forums and download TorchED, play around with it and get to know the growing mod community. We're all learning more and more about what can and can't be done with this game....and there's a LOT more that CAN be done than can't. All it takes is a little effort to learn how to use the modding tools, or a friendly request to the mod community...i'm sure if they ask nicely enough, someone will find a way to help your friends out.

Beyond that, this game is awesome and I've been recommending it to EVERYone...and so far, out of the thirty or so friends on my Steam friends list who have bought the game, 100% percent of them have been happy with it, and about half of those are addicts like me who have gone from just playing the game, to modding the bejeepers out of it.

short legs and oversized torso are specifically the look they're going for;
read this interview, especially page 1 and page 6
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/4 ... e_art_.php
it tells why they chose the style they did
one of the main reasons for this style was to be DIFFERENT from D3

they have also said this style is similar to The Incredibles
I think its easy to see the resemblance, and I think many like that style
Image

"I think you can appeal to a broader demographic if you made the barbarian more "normal" looking."
actually, they're probably getting a broader demographic this way
this style can appeal to WoW playerws, D2 players, younger audiences and audiences who prefer a more anime type look;
as you said, a "normal" looking destroyer appeals to D2 and titanquest ex-players; and while there are many of of those ex-players, its not a very broad demographic

they're NOT going to change this in a patch or in an expansion; it would take too much time and resources to redesign his look and all his armor; they are going to be devoting that time to the mmo

"i believe youre losing many potential buyers"
your friends are lame
they won't even download the demo and play it for 2 hours to see how it all looks

how can you not love this guy ?
Image

"perhaps you could offer a choice of physiques when creating a character"
the mmo will offer more customizations

more great pics in this thread

I love how a few dorks try to act as if they are Devs....thanks for ruining the game some by showing me items i havent found (YOUre lame for that). Do you actually have any friends? With a personality like yours i doubt it.

as i typed..i think the game is awesome...and i didnt ask for some geeky, live in their mothers basement, nerd with no job no girlfriend and no life to reply...not everyone wants to mod...and replies like this are actually counter-productive as now i will probably tell people that mostly losers like you play this game.

I actually laughed at you copying and pasting parts of my post like a true forum troll and taking it personal....what a baby.

I wont read your replies or respond back so troll away oh misanthropic troglodyte. You make the internet and the world a worse place...gratz.

And if you are a Dev attempting to portray yourself as a player then you've just created a lot of negative word-of-mouth and "word-of-text" from me by your post...and we all know what that did to a great game like titan quest...their company went bankrupt because people with pirated games complained about glitches..........bye bye Morons.

p.s. I was actually going to see if there was a way to buy this game from d2d for my friends and nephews for christmas...but i will just giet them something else now...so not only did you not help the company but you actually lost them sales as well as insured negative publicity from me. I'm sure spineless, morally bankrupt people like you don't care..but i bet the management does/will.

Um, I think the troll here is you. You reply to two people who aren't pretending to be devs, who are just presenting you with a difference of opinion..and who aren't even attacking you for it...and you respond by being a dick to us.

Way to go. On second thought, if this game ever gets a multiplayer mod, i'll be delighted to know you probably won't be playing it, because then I won't have to worry about running into you and having to deal with you in game.

Next time, post in the right damn forum.

Wow... first you post something completely off topic from what the thread is about, and then you start insulting people who gave you a completely reasonable response...

Pretty wild. You're pretty upset and hostile, and it seems rather misplaced. Is everything in your life ok? If you need to vent about life or something, PM me. Sometimes you just need an anonymous person to talk to :)

Anyways, back on topic. The first episode was hilarious! The premise is pretty funny.... a show about devs making a show about devs, hehe. Can't wait to see more :)

ps: Wonder is awesome! *swoon*

Be honest. Which of you guys is the crazy dog lady based on?

Also, some people think that throwing around words they found in an SAT Prep book suddenly makes their opinions and/or arbitrary viewpoints valid.
