Thanks Spacepirate! Didn't catch that right away as I use DarkFireBird's charactercreate.layout generator to generate the classes and the pets menu :oops: .
And thank you both Spacepirate and MetaSieg for checking out the mod! Would love any feedback, issues, anything!

As far as general feedback goes, I'd have to say I love this mod. The animations are really nice and fluid I might go so far as to say I like the Destroyer animations more on the Valkyrie then on the Destroyer. Issues wise everything is fine now aside from a minor sound problem. I am not sure of the cause but when the Valkyrie says some of her lines her voice sounds off, like it's high pitched or something. This only applies to things like her "low on mana" dialogue or her "I can't do that" line. However her voice when she uses her skills seems fine so go figure.

Haha! Back in version 1.0 I put in custom sounds for the Valkyrie, including that voice you're hearing now :) I wanted the contrast of a little girly voice on a bloodthirsty fighter.

If it really bothers you I can send you a tweaked valkyrie.dat file that'll revert her voice back to the Vanq's :)

I gotta admit, it's slightly off-putting at first. But that's because we're looking at it and thinking "I'm playing a vanquisher with a different skill set" and you keep expecting to hear the normal vanq voice. And when you do hear that vanq for the skills you think "yea, that's how its supposed to be" and anything else is strange.

The more I played it though, it seems more like she's supposed to be a young and inexperienced fighter, rather than the seasoned vets like the wandering destroyer or palace guard vanquisher, and so she brings a lot of enthusiasm to the fight. And I came to expect that light-hearted voice when doing things.

I'd be willing to bet that if you removed the remaining vanq sounds, it wouldn't be as jarring to switch between the inexperience/vet voices.

hmmm... thought I'd changed all the voice sounds. Lemme play some more and see what I've missed :)

Okay since the mod is so large, I'm providing a patch-file to fix the charactercreate.layout code error discovered by MetaSieg and fixed by Spacepirate, instead of making people DL the mod all over again :D !

Okay the mod archive on RGF has been updated to version 4.1

Version 4.1 fixes a bug in the charactercreate.layout file that prevented the class from showing in the character classes menu, as reported by Metasieg and Spacepirate (thanks guys!).

The .animation file has also been re-worked to put the custom sounds back into the animations. They were lost in moving to the new meshes since those meshes came with a new .animation file. I've been getting mixed reactions to this new Valkyrie voice, but I think they add to the class experience a lot

Thought I'd throw in this pic of the complete wardrobe :) ...

Okay the RGF download has been updated to version 4.2 with the following changes:

1) Bug fixes to the special_execute, special_slam and special_summon .skeleton files causing "duplicate animation named" errors reported in the ogre.log file. Necessitated fixing the Valkyrie .animation file and all skill .dat files using these animations.

2) Minor tweaks to the sound files, to match them better with the animations which use them.

3) Changed character intro splash screen.

My girlfriend wanted to play another hack-and-slash character, but she was complaining about how 'dorky' the Destroyer's appearance is, so I down-loaded the Valkyrie II mod for her and now she's really going to town with it! :D

Hi All. The Valkyrie II mod has been updated to Version 4.3

1) Fixes a code bug that prevented the version 4.2 sound for the Slash Attack skill from playing.

2) Adds a new skill: Whirlwind, a low-level knockback + stun (no damage) skill which can be activated at character level 1.

If anyone would prefer to just get the patch-files for this update, just PM me :)

Since both the Valkyrie II and the Vindicator have to add their own icon to the character select screen, you run into an issue where only one will load its icon due to they way they get added in.

So go to your mods folder and then navigate to "[CLASS]Vindicator\media\UI" or "[CLASS]Valkyrie\media\UI" and you will find a file called "charactercreate.layout"

You can open the Vindicator's file with notepad and add the Valkyrie block below the Vindicator block (copy-and-paste from the Valkyrie charactercreate file to the Vindicator charactercreate file) then exit/save:
