Steam Vista 32 user. cannot get this to work. tryed everything. It's in teh correct file folder. the game recognizes that I have installed a mod but still will not show teh potion at the vendor. I've gone in and out of town several times. waiting 5-10 minutes either way. waypoint and scroll. I also can't get any other mod to work. Which might have somethign to do with it.

Using the C:\users\"name"\appdata\roaming\runicgames\torchlight\mod

You could try using Torchleech to install the mods. http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5875

When you change something in the '.dat' file, be sure to delete the '.dat.adm' file, so the game can recreate it with the changes you make. Also delete the "massfile.dat", "masterresourceunits.dat" and their ".adm" files in the "%appdata%\runic games\torchlight", otherwise the game doesn't notice that the potion has been changed.

Aye figured it out. For some reason Nero wanted to open it as a Video CD Movie file. I changed it to a word file and am going through it now

I got it to lower the price easy. Just wish my mana pots didn't drop down as well in amount it restores unless the highest one always only restored 134 Mana

I have the steam version and it's not working for me. I've installed it to the correct directory and I dont have any other mods that change the merchant general inventory spawnclass. I thought it might be a problem with the rarity override being set to default, so I set it to 1, but still no luck, so I reverted back. I've reloaded the town cell numerous times and restarted the game. I don't know of anything else I can do to get this working.

Try TorchLeech to install the mod. Load savegame, slay monsters about 10 minutes (or just play 1-2 floors) and return to town. Most times the merchant inventories reset when you load the character; but maybe not always. Slaying monstens and return to town after a while does the job too). Your installation would be the first one where this doesn't work.

The mod always identified does not work together with this mod, i deactivated identify and it worked, then just remove respec and activate identify again. just switch when you need to use it again. Hope this helps.

If you delete the 'Spawnclasses' folder from the 'Always Identified' mod, both mods can work together. So there's no need for switching anymore then :)

Instead of deleting files from mods you can try to set up the correct load priority order for your mods. This solves the problem in most cases.

I solved my problem. I didn't check my Always Identified folder because I didn't realize it changed the merchant inventory. Anyways, how do you set load priority? Is that a feature of torchleech or does vanilla have it? And is there a way to add something to a spawnclass without having your mod write over the whole spawnclass so other mods can't add something to it as well without the user having to compile all the features into one file themselves?

Load priority is a feature from the game itself. Details on RGF wiki.

There is! I explained in (probably a bit too much) detail in this topic.
