[UI] DarNified AutoMap

Here's a square automap for ya.

Making the building blocks opaque means the pet/player icons will be hidden, as they're rendered underneath for some reason. I might add a backdrop to it to make it less transparent later, but a fix will hopefully be available from runic.

I highly recommend using the brighter map mod with this.

Install
1. Extract to %APPDATA%\runic games\torchlight\mods

UnInstall
1. Delete %APPDATA%\runic games\torchlight\mods\DUI_AutoMap

Are you the same DarN that was a modding guru in Oblivion as well? If so, welcome to Torchlight. I'll be keeping an eye out for your mods!

Thanks for this, DarN, it really makes the map far less squinty. This should be a must-have for anyone who cares about not going blind within the next few years. >.>

If Runic would fix the layering issue surrounding the player & pet pins being lower than the map files, then we could make the map completely opaque, and that would be even better!

Torchlight was a very good game at release, but with a modding community like this, it's going to quickly become a fantastic one! And an all time favourite for me.
I'm many things: a transhumanist, an imagineer, a werewolf fan, and an amateur hypnotist even. But perhaps the most important to keep in mind is that I'm an old-master at tongue-firmly-placed-in-cheek.

is it possible to remove the UI from all together and move it to the bottom left just a tad?

basically like the map centered over the player but placed in the top right corner..

I love your work man! Guy for those of you who don't know you are in the mist of a great modder he did some awesome mods for Fallout 3 and Oblivion can't wait to see what else you do.

As promised, feedback!

The only issue I have is basically the character/pet icons being below the map layer and that's about it, but that's not really much of an issue as long as I can see where I am on the map.

I use the Gender Mod (to get a female Destroyer) and it doesn't seem to be working, not sure if it's just for the newly added genders or not.

If this help,other mods I use:

Stat/Skill Respec potion
Gender Mod
TorchKit (if you can really even call that a mod?)

Can't get the square map to work, don't know if I've done it right but I put both the dds files into the mod directory as well as the file for the brighter map mod but nothing happens. Do I need to just put the 2 files into the mod folder or do I have to pthe the DUI_Automap folder into the mods folder as well. :oops:

Interesting how many people recognize your name from Oblivion modding! I instantly remembered your oblivion mods when I read "DarNified" heh! Nice work, cool to see another oblivion modder here, then again it's a long time since I have fiddled with oblivion!

Removing the UI is certainly possible. I'm not sure what you mean with the other stuff though.

This simply replaces two textures. Unless any of your mods replace the same ones, this will work fine.

Extract the archive, keeping directory structure intact.

DarN, I did not expect. Welcome and much thanks for all your work (on all the games). Your UI's fill a nitch that for many is much needed!
