[SKIN] Black Burrower/Artic&Red Wolf {Updated Oct/30/10}

Hello fellow Torchlighters. I bring upon you a new Burrower skin an Artic Wolf and a Red Wolf skin (dog pet).

Screenshots/Info and DL links on the bottom:

Burrower: The old purple/blue burrower got boring pretty quick for me so I decided to re-skin it and give this pet a darker/meaner look to it. The install how-to is in the ReadMe.txt.

Dog:This is semi-inspired by Versusforward's Black Dog Skin With Denim Bags mod. Also, you shouldn't need to replace the original dog_pet.dds from the Pak.zip archive. Just install it as any other normal mod and you should be good to go.

Dog:
This is just a quick and short re-skin to give this pet a different look which happens to look like a red fox of some sort. As the Artic Wolf skin, you shouldn't need to replace the original dog_pet.dds from the Pak.zip archive either.


I also recommend using Vagrant's Dog to Wolf re-size mod. It makes your pet bigger to better resemble a wolf's appearance. You can get it here: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5512

I also really really really recommend using yet another one of Vagrant's great mods Wolf Fur Dyes which you can check out here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5636 It allows you to switch around dog skins in game!

I love the Arctic Wolf skin... I have a question/favor to ask of you. By any chance could you remove the bags on the wolf, and possibly enlarge it slightly?

The bag removal would have to be a mesh edit which I don't think we can do yet without TorchED.

As for enlarging the pet, I'm not sure if it'll affect the hit boxes which might cause weird animations. I'll upload it either way.

Couldnt you just alpha the bags out (the extra mesh textures). Sure not the best solution concerning performance but it would do the job for now.


Beside that I like the skins but I prefere material adding mods (for example new fish type for black burrower) instead of replacing mods.

I may use it for my Lurker class if you don't mind that is. I need to somewhat merge the Varkolyn and a wolf together to create the werewolf. XD

Sorry I couldn't upload a bigger Artic Wolf. I tried to make it bigger but it didn't seem to work.

I noticed. Thanks for that wonderful addition. Xuven, use Vagrant's Dog to Wolf mod to enhance it's size.

Yeah, the links haven't been updated since RGF's revamp. Since some of the people who made mods in the early Torchlight days aren't active anymore, that's something that you may find in a number of the topics here. I'm almost tempted to run through all of them and post new links. Almost >_> However, it'd be boring and time-consuming, so let's not
