*ADM files converted to DAT files to prevent issues for players when they clear their cache

This MOD makes the gem icons bigger thanks to Archonyx's MOD, and adds roman numerals beneath each gem so you can tell what level it is at a glance. I have made a new version where the numbers are on the gem rather than below it, this will properly line up the gems when they are placed in a socket. I will keep the original available for those that prefer the other look. The gems don't match perfectly with the socket on the orginal.

nice.. though, maybe instead of roman numbers you can use flares - rays to tell the quality.. number of biggest flares can represent the number

Great work Brandonn!

I'm really happy that my mod started discussion about this issue, and there seem to be some really great ideas being brought up already.
I especially like Dusho's solution, as that would work even when socketed.

I really, really like this idea. Both bigger and with flares would really help tell them apart at a glance.

It's a pretty good idea, but why count light rays when you can just have a number underneath? :P

I like the idea as well, however what would 10 flares look like? Would it be too busy? I have the framework in place, if you want to redo the gem icons, I would gladly make a variant of this mod to use those. Someone mentioned dots in the other thread, but I thought for the final gem 10 dots would be crazy. You could also go the route of D2, they did a good job with different icons of each step, and you could match them up pretty easy. The challenge here is there are 10 steps of each gem and only 4 icons. The fist icon is for Cracked Dull and ?, then then the second for the next 3, and the third for the 7-9th. The fourth icon is for the last one.

giving them unique shapes for each grade would make more sense.
a lot of work but I think it's worth making.

Registered to say: This mod is awesome! However I noticed you've given Cracked Pure Ember the same icon as Cracked Core Ember. Just a heads up, keep up the great work 8-)

use can use different color for flares after those 3
say there is one gem icon for first 3 qualities - you would add flare from 1-3 darker ones, then another 3 qualities with another gem icon get brighter flares and later on some aura for additional qualities
