This "Hotfix" is only needed by using the German version of Torchlight!

If you install die English version from the "JoWood DVD retail", the "Hotfix" is not needed.

So yeah...

I just got the game from my brother who was spending a little too much time on it and played a couple of hours before downloading the patch...and now it says that Torchlight is not installed on my system.

Which I know for a fact it is, because I have just got my Vanquisher up to level 21.

Is there a patch for the patch anywhere??!

I have been playing TL since it first went live and have had many fun hours (probly 100+ lol) but I have just
downloaded the 1.15 patch, installed into the same folder C:\Games\Runic etc and when I run the game it
loads fine (after 2 mins, longest game start ever) and all my old toons are there and if I play with one of
those its fine, but when I make a new toon it starts to load then POP, Torchlight has encountered an error
yada yada and this??? Any ideas please, I love this game and now ive broken it

So I downloaded the following file: Torchlight_Update_v1_5

If I try to run the file it just says: "Torchlight is not currently installed on your system"

There are no "bugs" so far, but some of the new features might be useful

Yes! And you can only change the language at the beginning of the installation.

Read carefully the first Post, regarding "JOWOOD INTERNATIONAL BOXED EDITION"!!!

For this Version you only need a Hotfix if you installed the German language!

So, I only recently noticed there had been a patch (after failing to make the sushi helm with the recipe on strategy wiki). However, upon trying to run the patch I get told that Torchlight is not installed on my machine.

I have the encoreusa physical disc version. I DLed the correct patch.

I do have torchlight installed on an external HD, and may have installed it using a computer other than the one which its currently connected to. However, the game currently runs just fine.

If this is a registry problem, can anyone give me instructions on how to modify my registry so that the patcher can find my install? Otherwise: what's the problem?

Edit: Appears to be a registry problem: /HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Runic Games does not exist. Is there any way to prompt my computer to locate the install and create the appropriate registry entry? Alternately, is there any way to make the patcher let me tell it where my install is?

I've been a bit unsuccessful in my own research and implementation so I'm hoping someone can give me some help here. In my admittedly lackluster attention to Diablo 3, there was talk of Torchlight 2. Long story short, the preorder was too good because I got the original with a $20 game. So I bought it a few weeks back and played it. Then I started to look at mods, but most specified a version that I had to have and for some reason, Steam is not applying the update. Or at least I don't think it is. When I right-click the exe file, the version still lists 1.0.69.21 as the file version. Did it just automatically apply the patch when it downloaded the original game? Is there any way to download the patch from the main website and have it apply to the Steam version? (Doubtful on that last part)

edit: Apparently the patch automatically downloaded at the same time as the main game. It would have been helpful for the exe to have that, but I noticed on the very bottom in small text on the main screen that tells me the version number.
