C++ error, my game gets this error in the lair of sister level or something. It seems many others get this same error, i did everything that was recommended in the C+ thread. This is not fair, I pay $20 for 1hour of gameplay.

I got the game yesterday and I loved it I was lvl. 30 Alchemist and i was rlly far in. I was looking at some mods (I had 4 Mod classes) I got this one called torchcam. it let you do freecam. so loaded it up and everything and now the game wont start it keeps getting a message that says
Torchlight.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Weare sorry for the inconvienience.
Then it lets me close it or debug it. I tried debugging it and it just closed. Could someone help me!

Purchased Torchlight from Perfect World. During regular play game locks up, screen goes black and sounds like it is stuck/skipping. I am unable to even load the game in safe mode. Have tried reducing detail. I have updated relevent drivers and install latest patch. Attached are the dxdiag and info 32 infromation. Please help.dxdiag:

my directX has the new version .

I bought the game in hopes that it would solve my issues...

I'm running windows xp
Downloaded the game from steam
and 100% of the time i try to play i get an error message
"FAILED GAME CREATION"

Iv'e tried safe mode... still does NOT load the game..
I only have 2 days off a week from work and iv'e spent them trying to get this to work
can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me stop wasting time

game looks very interesting, from the pictures iv'e seen... would be nice to see it for myself.

Im using steam and i have the mac demo because i want to try before i buy at that ultimate discount but it keeps quitting unexpectedly whenever my pet attacks, i attack with my stave (alchemist) or i walk onto a spot on the ground that is probably a check point. If i buy the full game will this still happen? if not, how can i fix this?

Any idea what's going wrong? Got my hopes up when the game started loading like 20x quicker haha but then that happened. I was also looking forward to the possible FPS boost that was mentioned seeing as the game runs slow, although playable (just), on my PC.

On any Windows 7 versions. (Not the beta versions.)

Hit Start then All Programs. Find the shortcut. Then copy the shortcut. Paste it onto your desktop screen. (Note: Not the Safe mode. Safe mode will crashes because you have to run that in Windows 7 in Safe mode first.)

Now right click the shortcut. Go to Properties then Compatibility.

Check the box on Compatibility mode then set to Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

Check the box on Privilege Level.

Click OK.

I did this and it haven't crashes yet.

min only has windows nt 4.0 service pack 5, and there is no box that says privilage
