Try rebooting your PC.

Doublecheck to make sure that you uninstalled the previous version correctly, and that you unchecked the delete files option so that you can still have your characters.

Then install the new version.

I'm going to need some more information from you about your computer.

Find out what the model number for your PC is. Check the documentation that came with your PC, or look on the back or bottom of your PC for the model Number.

Please tell us the manufacturer's name of your system too! (Like HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc.)

Next, go to Start, click on Run (or Search if using Vista/7), and type in dxdiag and press enter.

Click on the Display tab, and then post here everything in the Device and Drivers boxes:

Thanks!

Hi Darthpanda16 and all,

I'm having the same problem as salsero71ita - and I purchased from Perfectworld too.

I've tried several things to get 1.2 working, including reinstalls, reboots, redownloading the dx runtime, running in compatibility mode for XP, but no luck yet.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I'll keep trying!

The PW build seems to be pretty useless:

Does the demo leave some kind of DRM left on my machine after I uninstall it? I'd rather have it completely cleaned for when I can play the Steam retail version (for Christmas).

Thank you. 8-)

I don't have the crashing problem with the PW version, but it seems that the enchanting hotfix is not working. It was supposed to be included with the update, but I got enchants like +1 str, or +1 def with my lvl70 vanq on a lvl43 ring. ^^; Could someone from PW please verify if the hotfix is really included and working as it's supposed to, because I think it's not ^^;

The PW game crashes.

APPCRASH
Error Module: kernel32.dll

Previous version worked fine.

Been speaking to D2D over the past week, and this is what they had to say:

:
Hi there,

The game has been updated, however we do not have a patch available, instead you will need to redownload the full game from us and reinstall it. Let me know how you get on!

I have the D2D version & tried re-D/Ling from them again, then installed the new download--still version 1.1.

Guess we're still waiting...

Same here. Tried re-downloading today and it's still the same original version. Tried the FilePlanet download as well, but it's just the Runic Version. A bit disappointing that it's taking D2D so long to release the patch, but I knew that might be an issue when I used them, so no sense in complaining I guess. Still loving the original version, so I'll wait patiently for the patch.

I reinstalled with the new patch and the performance is still extremely choppy and unplayable when it should not be a problem at all. The game pauses for one second about every 3 seconds when running around in town. When trying to fight in dungeons the frame rate is unbearably low and makes the game unplayable.

When is Runic gonna release patches instead of whole new install builds? It'd be nice not to have to download 400 megs every time the game is updated. I do appreciate the fixes though.

if D2D does indeed have it updated then the filesize is the same apparently.

can anyone confirm if the filesize changes or not with the new install?(from another download source of course)

The patch I downloaded from fileplanet, which is the Runic build, is about 420MB, so it is smaller then the original download from D2D (which still sits at 460MB this morning).

Still waiting on D2D...............assuming tomorrow at the earliest with the holiday today.

Re: Runic Patch - Vendor updates

Postby davydm » Wed Nov 11, 2009 7:52 am

A few days ago, someone presented me with a pirated copy of the game -- which I thought I would give a bash instead of doing the massive download. I played for about 2 hours and I really enjoyed it, so I decided to buy a license and download the official build (since I don't even know what patch level the copy was at, and because I would like to have an installer .exe instead of the silly .bin/.cue images that I was given).

But I've hit a problem. I've now downloaded the same patch file (Torchlight-1.12b.exe) from Filefront TWICE, with the same results. The files I have have the (same) md5sum:

e37527c937dd81b35c12d200f959bd37

Both of them won't install -- the NSIS installer complains that the installer is corrupt. Since I've downloaded it twice, with the same result, I would like to know if there's something that I'm missing here? The link on FileFront for the download came from the official download link (http://www.torchlightgame.com/download), so I don't know where else to go to get an official download of the legit item I paid for ):

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm having the same filefront download issues.

I download 1.12b.exe from filefront and it simply fails it's own test "verifying installer".

"Installer integriy check has failed. ..."

I'm also having the same problem with a corrupt installer from FileFront. Seems as if there are a couple of other folks on the forums with the same issue. Does FileFront have a bad copy of the installer?

Please consider this a bug with the zoom feature:

When changing portals / levels / exiting and entering the game .. the zoom position resets. Please have it retain the most recent zoom setting, otherwise the player needs to continue to adjust it every-time.

By the way, I noticed that zooming in a couple clicks in (mouse wheel) and my FPS improves dramatically. :o

Thank you. 8-)
