Need help with Tanwigs Left Eye

While fishing, I have caught an item called tanwigs left eye several times now. Each time, when I go to look at the item, it crashes the game. The past 2 times this happened, I had not saved my game, and lost all the fish I had caught. (Which was annoying as I had just caught my first Large fish. Blah.) This time, I saved my session prior to looking at the item. As before, it crashed the game. Now, it is stuck in my pack and I can't get rid of it. Any help on this one available? What is this thing, what is it's purpose, and how can I get rid of it if all it is going to do is crash the game?

You transmute it.

Twanteng's Right Eye, Leffert's Left Eye, Leffert's Hands, and the Blank's Teeth Necklace together transmute into what is arguably the most arcane item in the game, and one of the rarest - the Secret Map.

Hint: Do NOT go there unless you are at least 40th level and otherwise pretty full of juice and extremely well equipped. Further, do not go there at all if you are over 54th level, unless you are ready to die. (If not playing hardcore, make that ready to die, and die, and die, and die...)

Oh, and take some sugar cubes or apples with you, if you can figure out how to get some into the game.

Like I said in this viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21927 topic, you only need to transmute ONE of the objects, you don't need the entire set (according to the wiki). Also, in order to get rid of items in your backpack, there's an easy fix. Take the item, drag it outside of your inventory and hover the mouse over the ground. While it's still on the end of the mouse and hovering outside of your inventory, use the task manager to close out the game.

This *should* get rid of it if you aren't wanting to try the transmutation route.

Here the thing: anytime I even hover over these items, it crashes the game. So, grabing them to transmute, get them out of the pack, etc is out of the question. I can't touch them, let alone look at them. So, any idea on what to do at this point? Appreciate any help you can offer. I can't hardly play the character now the way things are with the pack. If I accidently get close to these items, game crashes along with anything I have done since the last save. It is difficult to avoid the things as the are rather stuck in the 2nd column. Moving around the pack is hazardous at this point.

I would say send an email to customerservice@runicgames.com and tell them your problem.

Sadly, that has been a complete bust. At this point I simply want to manually remove the items from my character's pack. The non-customer service department at Runic Games are completely silent on this solution. Do you know what folder to access?

They're in full crunch mode right now. You might try sending a pm to BrianW, the forum CM, you might get a quicker reply.

For the benefit of others following this thread: I went through all those game saves and got a bunch of mod warnings in addition to not being able to locate the items in question. I'm pretty sure it's a mod issue. Try removing Hotspot or Torchleech if installed and do a fresh install of the game to see if that makes any difference.

Never heard of Hotspot or Torchleech. The game installed on the computer designated Roger has NO Mods installed. It is as I bought the game in December 2011 from gamehouse. The Vanquisher character on the game installed on the Roger computer is the one that has the items stuck in the main inventory. They cannot be moved into Pet's inventory or stash. My last 3 emails to you have been to inquire as to whether I can go into the game program folder, and delete the items manually from the inventory that way.

The Other computer, the one designated Cherie computer, DOES have one Mod - the Level999fame99 Mod. However, I did have to finally delete the Vanquisher character on that computer. But I think it was done after I sent you all those files you wanted.

As stated in the past several emails to you, if the issue itself cannot be fixed, oh well. At this point, all I am asking you - or anyone else with knowledge - is this:

1. Is it POSSIBLE to get into the game program folder itself and manually delete specific items out of a Character's inventory?

2. If it IS POSSIBLE, please advise me on the path, etc.

FYI: The only reason I came back to the forum was to see if anyone had a solution for this issue, as March 5 was the last time I heard from you. You had not responded to at least two follow up emails sent to you after March 5, so I came back here to see if anyone could help me.

It has been well over 2 weeks since I sent you the files you asked for - and you have not responded to any of my follow up emails inquiring as to whether you have found a fix for the issue I am having. Am I asking the wrong person for help? Should I go directly to the game developers perhaps? I notice their is a forum for the developers. Do you think I should ask them for help?

Again, the game on Roger's Computer has NO mods installed. The damaged eye items are in the Vanquisher's inventory.

Hi Cherie. Sorry for the delay. It's definitely a mod-related issue of some kind (this was from Roger's computer). I was able to open up your game save and remove the items from your inventory. I'll be sending an updated copy of your character via email along with further details.
