[Resolved] Torchlight Editor Steam Edition

Postby Ilix » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:16 pm

I have a mod that I've been working on with the normal downloaded version of Torched. Yesterday I found out that it had been released through Steam as well, so I installed that version instead. Now, every time I launch the editor it tells me I need to have a mod and forces me to make a new one. This happens even when I open the ModEditor and change the path to the mod I was already working on (which loads into the mod list, so the editor is recognizing it).

My quest is, is this a problem with the Steam version of the editor, a problem with having started the mod in a different editor, or is there some option to make a specific mod the default that I'm missing?

Any help would be great. :D

It's a problem with the Steam version. for some reason is isn't reading the the properties out of the EditorSettings.dat. We'll get it fixed. I personally would use the non-Steam version since it has decidedly less Steamy-Voodoo. (Doesn't matter where you bought the game, or if you've actually purchased the game at all, you're free to use the non steam version regardless)

Yeah, I started the non-Steam version downloading again before I left for work. Thanks. :)

I've swapped back from the Steam edition of TorchEd to the downloaded one and I've run into some problems. My mod is set as the path and is recognized when the editor loads and when I pull up my dungeon layout the unit spawners I placed still list the custom units I made (and they are still selectable on the list). However, for some reason the Unit Editor isn't displaying the units I made, and I need to make adjustments to them.

I haven't moved them in the folder directories, they're still found here: C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Application Data\runic games\torchlight\mods\[mod name]\media\units\monsters\[custom unit name]\units

n/m, figured it out. :)
