No Idea, but by TL1 it was only the translation, what came by JooWooD. // Keine Ahnung, wird sich nach der Release zeigen!? Da aber TL2 über ein Patch-System verfügen soll (bei TL1 musste man ja immer pro Version ein Gesamtpaket downloaden), sollte es bei/mit den anderen Sprach version eigentlich keine Probleme geben!?

You are sort of contradicting yourself at some point.
If the German distributer only distributes the Runic version (which does not have a DVD), how can there be a DVD check. (You hope they do not change anything, but hope they add this.)

Sorry, war ein Fehler! Es sollte natürlich heißen: Ich hoffe nicht! Bei TL1 gab es ja bei der Boxed-Version auch kein DMR, die müsste man nicht einmal per Key Online freischalten!

So... we don't have any concrete details about the German boxed version. We know that languages will be patched in after release, so whatever version of the game you buy you will be able to select from the available languages from that point on. That implies that languages are included in the patch, as opposed to each language needing a separate patch, which was the case for TL1.

this may be a repeat but i was wondering (being a mac user currently) since the game when you buy it comes with the ability to put it on your pc and then your mac once the mac version becomes available two questions although the second question may be redundant.
1) is it cross-platform? as in will pc users be able to play with mac users and eventual console users?
2) will a character created on a pc be able to be played on a mac once the mac version comes out?

1. What about companions?

Playing in offline mode can get lonely :cry: , and D3 offers up 3 companions (to choose from) with their original skillsets, and PERSONALITIES (complete with snarky comments and friendly banter from time to time). A similar addition would be welcome to T2. In T1 when someone made a mod (Kelin Tor's Mercenary Company) where you could hire upto 3 companions provided you can shell out enough gold to hire them (and then keep them forever, never letting them die using Heal All spell after battles) :twisted: , but T2 should have companions whom you meet throughout the storyline. Check out D3's companions style if you can find time...

2. The camera: Is it static or moves around?

In T1, we had to use the TorchCAM to get a 3rd person look if we wanted and also rotate and do other stuff with the camera. T2 should have the feature inbuilt...

Lastly, just a query (as I've not played T2 beta): Are the quests given by specific questgivers as in T1, or do many people (NPCs) we meet throughout our adventure give us side-quests?

Please tell me something about your DRM thing. Do i need that acc even for single player?

Can i access the multiplayer with any other runic acc? Or is one versioncode merged with my acc ike in Beta?

I heard that i have to make a Runic acc for having updates?

Where are the differences between Steam and boxed version in concrete concerning those Q?



I saw some people raging about this in other forums. They hate this account thing.

Man that was about DIABLO 3 not TORCHLIGHT 2.
Torchlight 2 has NO DRM attached. You can use torchlight without any runic accounts if You do not plan to play multiplayer (which will be lan-like not BN-like).

This is all from memory, so i might be wrong on a few points.

No you do not need your Runic account to play single player or lan. Your runic account is for online play only.

Yes your registration code is tied to your account like in the beta.

Yes I am fairly certain you will need a Runic account to get updates.

So far the boxed versions will only be available in Russia and Germany. All versions should be getting the same updates within hours of each other including Steam, Perfect World, Runic, Russia and Germany.

I don't think you'll need a Runic account to get updates. It probably starts up via a patcher, you don't need to log in until you're in-game and want to play multi online.

Will there be a parental control in Torchlight 2 ?

Hello,

I was just wondering, will there be a kind of parental control option in Torchlight II ? Or if you like, will we be able to turn off the "blood" effects ?

i know, i know, why on earth would i want to turn off those nice effects. Well, i have a little boy that i know would love to watch me play the game (or help me play while he sits on my lap ;)). And there has to be a lot of older children (6 to 10 for example) who would like to play the game but their parents won't let them because of those effects.

Anyway, not a crucial option to have in the game but would be very nice to have.

Yes there will be a no blood option. It was discussed in this thread viewtopic.php?f=30&t=27676&hilit=blood+option with a Dev response on the first page confirming that there will be a no blood option.

Does anyone know if mods will be available on steam workshop? That seems like a natural place to manage them if you pre-ordered the game from steam.

i wondered if it would be possible to mod the game so that someone can implement private/closed servers just like in D2.
because that's what holding me back atm.

It's still a possibility, but the devs won't make a final decision until after release.
