Will this game be like TES games?

Postby Jenniph34r » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:48 am

In the idea that the first mod released is the nude mod? You know you want it to be, that male berserker running around doing the infamous triple hit combo, two fist weapons and another fist if you know what I am saying.

But yeah, thoughts?

(Title refers to The Elder Scrolls, which lately include Oblivion and Skyrim)

Runic does not condone adult rated mods nor does runicgamesfansite.

But yeah, that was my first idea. I've brought this up ages ago, for I am doom.

So we need like an xxxtorchlight2xxx.com website if we're ever gonna see the infamous triple hit combo?

(either way, if it was done well, skimpier "clothes-less" models or nude would be interesting)

EDIT: That's one of the things I think D3 did right, you pick the standard person you're going to play and they have default armor on, then when you start you're in what amounts to underwear, you get a sense of progression to actually having items that way

I find it annoying to be shown that, think "hey, that's fairly nice" and then end up with a character that's wearing rags. I struck something similar in Prototype (the original, not sure about P2), you get all the abilities at the beginning, they tell you how to use them and then you lose them all. The first thing I tried to do after the "flashback" started was use the hammer ability I'd been told to do earlier and it didn't work.

It is a very minor grievance though. No doubt they did play testing and found that more people respond better to be given/shown awesome stuff and then having it taken away.
And who are you, the proud lord said,

How about instead to deducting clothes, we ADD clothes to things. :] Like you know, maybe a tuxedo for your pet wolf or a wedding gown for your hawk. Heck, let's dress the trees up in buddhist monk attire.

That might be cool too.

They sort of do the same thing in Darksiders, except in a different way.

I understand why you would be annoyed but I like it, you get your rags to riches story, although I will contest that some games certainly do it better than others. Personally I'm just a fan of skimpier clothing if you're wearing nothing, it makes more sense to me, not necessarily nude, but skimpier, in TL you seem to start off in decent gear (even when you have none). (I apologize for the comma ridden run on sentences)

I figure the first mod will be always-ID, because that will probably take six or eight minutes. Respec may take as long as twenty minutes. :p
I only have experience on Elite, so if I make some claim that seems completely bizarre to you, it may be because I've never used a lower setting.

I suggest hats. Like every time your fame increases you get a permanent hat on your character. And every fame level would add another hat upon it.

lol, at first I thought someone expected TES-style gameplay from TL2

I do want me hat mod now, though. Anyone know a hatter? Preferably a mad one.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

QFT, needs to be brought to modders attention. Hats are what everyone plays games for nowadays.

They did it with the original torchlight, mostly because the Vanquisher was known for her big boobs.

It took less than a day for the vanquisher boobs to come out after TL1's release.

Just so it's known, any fansite participating in Runic's fansite program have to agree to not contain any such adult content, so the only nude mods you'll find will be on privately uploaded places or any such half-porn mod site someone wants to make. Personally I think it's stupid to have people clamoring for nude mods... google could get you boobs faster.

I think someone should mod the game so that the female characters are a giant pair of boobs, and every male character is a penis. That way, if people are going to want to make a Torchlight II Sex mod, they would only be able to do it via pvp.

I simply don't like how Bethesda does their games. I think TES games suck...bad. I also dislike the garbage they created and stuck the fallout name on.

I dunno. I'm a big fan of naked women but naked pixels do little for me. Naked TES models...no thanks. I'd think you have to be truly pathetic and sad to be into that.

Naked TL2 characters is one of the dumber ideas I've seen on gaming forums recently - and I visit quite a few of them - and there are a LOT of bad ideas posted on them all.

Me too! Except that the entire computer monitor is pixels so I'm a fan of some naked pixels, I couldn't post any links however.

You can be into it for non-sexual reasons, realism and such for one, they don't have to be naked, but like I said, I'm a fan of skimpier clothing (underwear) if all the armor is removed.

So does that make you an idiot for frequenting all of them?
