I hear ya, but I'll give them some slack because the problem we're facing at the moment, wasn't an aspect of TL1 so it wasn't something they were to prepared to handle. I can't say the same for D3 release because Blizzard have high standard on maintaining online connection and yet allowed that too happen. At least we're still able to play. I think my frustration for D3 on release night was much table flipping frustration than just annoying like it is now.

That last part means a lot and I won't forget it. However, I fully expected you guys to know how big this release was because of how many sales on steam there were. Also, it would have been nice to get an email warning a week or so ahead of time letting us link the steam game to runic. Considering I was never informed of this, I imagine many others were unaware of this as well. If you want to feel slightly better you might be encouraged to know I never had any intention of buying Diablo 3 because I know where the soul of the Diablo series is. I know game launches have their hiccups. I just expected a little more preparation than this is all.

We tried hard to prepare - our lobby, for instance, worked like a CHAMP! Authorization went fine!
Our web services though? Those died in a fire, for what appears to be a variety of interconnected reasons.
Even our forums, right now? Being totally destroyed - but there's no obvious load! There are barely 500 people here, and we've weathered WAY better concurrency than that.

Man.. Some of you are giving this issue some serious hate and impatience. I'm a little surprised that not being able to log into multi player is upsetting so many of you. To the point, that you're saying terrible things about this company. But tomorrow, next week? You'll be playing, enjoying everything they've done for you. Enjoying the entertainment they worked so hard to offer you.

If it's any consolation, in the midst of all the trouble I was able to login to my account and link to my steam account about 30-40 minutes ago. Unfortunately none of my friends were so I'm still waiting to start online. I ran through the first area with all 4 classes though and they're all very fun in different ways. Good work!

Thank you for your dedication Travis and that of your team. Please ignore those who have no idea what it takes to get things up and running. It's almost 2AM in Seattle and you guys are still hard at work trying to fix the issues. That means a lot to me!

.. >_> At least this isn't Diablo 3 where servers being down meant you couldn't even enjoy the game. Not to mention, they were brilliant enough to even enable single player characters being able to be played on multi-player when it does go up!

So, I want to be cautious about this, but our current attempt seems to be holding so far. Our account servers are SEEMING stable, and I'm hoping people can get through now.
We brought up an entirely new server, did a huge move of the database to it, and found an issue with our Steam-linking that was causing some issues with refreshes.
