Shoot me an email at travis@runicgames.com and attach your sharedstash.bin file and I'll see what I can do!

Hi Travis, thanks for the support.

I had a problem myself, yesterday I lvled 3 characters, embermage from 19 to 25, berserker lvl 1 to 7 and engineer lvl 1 to 4. Then I logged out from TL2 around 7:50 PM (GMT -3), and came back to take a look at my embermage at 3:30 am, before opening TL2 steam asked if I wanted to download files from its cloud, clicked on "Yes" but a message showed up saying that the sync had failed, I ignored it and entered TL2 to find that my lvl 25 embermage was completely set back to lvl 1 with no items on his stash and back to the starting area where all characters appear after the intro cinematic. Strangely, all my other characters were intact.

I checked my save files and the SVB. and restore. where modified at the same time that I logged into my embermage(3:34 am), so I imagine that the restore file have the same info that the SVB file and all its lost.

I removed the SVB and replaced it with the restore file but it didn't change a thing.

You might have lost permanently. The save on steam cloud might be an old one.

Turn steam cloud off.

This feature has been doing wrong since its launch. And drive unawared users to pick the wrong option in the screen you mentioned.

Ok, this is not the correct place for this, I'm pretty sure, if not please redirect me.

I was downloading the game, was near the end, I left the room for lunch and now the download restarted, all over again. I take a look on my Steam folder, where the game is, and it says 1.4Gb, which I believe is weird, cause the game still on my computer and for me is complicated cause my connection is REALLY bad.

Any idea what happened?

well if your having this issue the only thing that would work best until said issue is fix is quite easy

copy your save file and put it in a separate file. :D

it already happened to me but since i made a copy of my save file it was an easy fix.

Hello Runic Support, I've been playing 2 days and it looks like I lost my Character saves because I already finished these quests and my items aren't the same. This was after the update on 23th Semptember. The version I have is a Steam version.
I was already at the beginning of the Act 3. I already beat the Manticore. But here's a full proof that I beat the manticore. I do not know the issue of this patch but I've lost everything and it now reverted back to level 21 and I lost my progression and my items including my gold and stash items. I've put so many effort on this. Thanks

I have already sent a message to the email address to do a verification stage. ( travis@runicgames.com )

Hi Travis,

Since release I've had a few little problems with my Steam copy, and I got the worst one last night. It would have been after one of the update patches but it deleted one of my characters, and everything in my shared stash.

I've recovered the character, but she is a lower level and is missing some better up-to-date gear I had for her, is there a way I can send you the sharedstash.bin and the character files so you can maybe fix them up for me?

Thanks

Hey, I had an embermage that has gone missing. The restore file and everything is still there. I tried using the method at the top of the page to restore him, but to no avail. Still have all the old and unchanged files saved somewhere else just incase. Any suggestions or help? I am using the Steam version. Could I possibly send you my file and see what can be done with it?

I just noticed that my shared stash is also missing. any chance on getting that back?

I played earlier today. Increased by 2 levels.

I just logged in. Lost 2 levels and all new loot.

I followed the steps at the start of this post. They didn't work.

Please fix this. Granted, it's only a $20 game, but if this crap keeps happening, then the old saying "You get what you pay for" will be true and applicable.

Will my character be safe if I save his restore files every time I log out?
I've already turned steam cloud off.

Also, is there meant to be two sharedstash.bin files in the saves folder? Because I have two, and the other is called sharedstashh.bin =/

Did Steamcloud re-update? Because if you pull down old versions it will definitely continue to replace your local copies-
The steamcloud upload pane can be a little obtuse.
