[Suggestion] Mountable Pet

Postby UneasySpecter » Mon Oct 31, 2011 2:12 pm

I think that the levels are large enough and it would be pretty cool to have mountable pets.

The mountable option could be available as a potion you swap to your pet and use for 1 time use only.

Controls should be to mount your pet is Right on the D-Pad and to unmount is Left on the D-PAD

would love some feedback if possible by a mod or admin thx

Considering this section is about the Torchlight that has already been released on the xbox, I don't think you're gonna see that happen any time soon. I doubt it will happen in Torchlight II, either, no matter what platform it's on. I don't know if horses or ridable pets are really in the cards for the sequel. Maybe the MMO, tho. I'd be all for mounts in the MMO.

Mounts require a whole bunch of dedicated code in the game engine. They are not a trivial "add this feature to pets" decision. They have been a problem and a major revison in every RPG that has ever added them, and I am not sure that ANY ARPG has successfully implemented them in the past. So, bottom line, don't hold your breath for this capability in TL2, unless their is a later major update.

it might actually be possible to do it in TL2. At least one of the pets is technically two units, with the bottom unit doing the walking. Or at least that's what we heard at PAX.
