Dexterity Stacking.

Postby Sayorian » Mon Sep 24, 2012 3:22 am

So dodge is supposed to be capped out at 75% if I'm not mistaken (correct me if I am wrong). So with ~100 Dex, Dodge Passive, and Charge.. Outlanders make it seem like a cake walk to hit. Outside of this and natural Critical Hit Chance dex doesn't seem to be worth stacking after a certain point. With my level 30 Outlander I'm at 105 Dex; 60 Str, I plan to stack more into strength down the line but I'm not sure if just mindlessly dumping into these two stats is the best option. Is there really any reason to continue stacking Dex? I'm not concerned too much with Vit since once my Charge is up I can nearly stand in the middle of a mob and not worry about getting touched (I'm playing on Veteran by the way). If I didn't invest entirely into these two skills I would attempt to opt in some Focus since that was what I wanted to do before but got side tracked by wanting decent weapon damage.

Just looking for some input.. don't want to stretch myself too thin with my stat allocation.

I put all my points into dex up to lvl 55 - not realising there was a cap until i noticed it wasn't going down with charge. I want a respec now. :c

I would like the game to tell you this cap beforehand, allow a respec and/or make dexterity more useful.

Also, what's the max dexterity you should have if you only want dex for dodge with/without the level 15 Dodge Mastery bonus?

You can reach the dodge cap with ~100 DEX as an Outlander. You can get this from gear later on, so I'm not sure if it's worth investing any hard points into the attribute. I'm not saying Dexterity is useless, far from it. It just seems like a waste to add points into it.

Yeah, once you get it a little over a hundred there really isn't any point in getting more of it. The returns on crit rate are just too small. Personally I think it should add to your Execute chance as well.
Trust me, I've checked.

The game specifically tells you what the next point placed into a given stat will give you. In the case of the Outlander you have to ensure your Charge Bar is empty or the results are scewed by Charge. As soon as you see diminishing returns from Dex kicking in, you should switch to Str or Focus, depending on build. Str if you mainly shoot your weapon and use skills whose DPS is based on Weapon DPS, and Focus if you use skills that do not care about weapon DPS.
