Caveat: My zerker is still in the mid twenties, so I have no experience using Ravage. Thus I'm looking for some input from higher level players with actual experience with that skill.
It seems to me that Ravage and Eviscerate are two skills which fulfill the same roll. Namely, they are both high-damage, spam-able, short-range crowd clearing skills. There are some differences, especially with only a few points invested. (Eviscerate starts with more limited range and arc, and initially has a lengthy dot component.) But it seems that at 15/15 both skills would be very similar. Is that your experience?
I notice that Ravage doesn't mention a charge building penalty like Eviscerates. Do you see noticeably faster charge buildup when using that skill? How does the charge build speed from using Ravage on groups of enemies compare to autoattacking with a high execution chance?
I'm currently planning on maxing one of these as a primary attack on my frenzy zerker, but I've been holding off from investing the points until I'm able to test and compare. What are your thoughts?
P.S. Does Ravage count as a direct attack to benefit from Cold Steel Mastery and the full charge crit bonus? I've tested Eviscerate with Cold Steel Mastery and can confirm that it is affected.
