No loot above 45?

Hello all, I seem to have a problem regarding loot drops.
My character is level 79 and I'm attempting to get her to 100. However, it seems all the weapons & armour that drop never seem to go above level 45, no matter what level monster they come from, nor from containers in same-level dungeons.
I've gone through a few map scroll dungeons to try & get some decent equipment but haven't found anything beyond the 45 limit.
As you can imagine, it's making adventuring a tad difficult as most of my skills rely on weapon damage, and my damage absorption is suffering.

Is this an issue others are having or am I just unlucky?

Yep, the items don't scale all the way up to 100. There are mods out there that add level 60 - 90 items.

While the items do not scale all the way to 100 in item level, neither do they drop in direct lock-step proportion to the current character level.

Whether you noticed it or not, it would be rare for a level 50 character to see a level 50 item drop. More likely item drops in the early 40's.

You probably would find more items closer to your character's current level at the Gambler, if you cared to invest the time and money to go that route in your collecting. There are a number of rare high level items in the item level 60's, which you are unlikely to see as drops unless your character is in the 80's, or has a bunch of Magic Find.

The highest level item in the game seems to be item level 91. Your character has to be level 85 to use it. Good luck on randomly happening to see it drop before you make level 100, and play on some.

Highest level item I have ever collected is item level 84. I think it dropped in a Phase Protal on a level 100 character.

Tried the 'Ancient' mod & I'm finally getting equipment nearer my level. My Vanquisher is kicking serious arse once again!

Honestly, I don't mind if they don't go all the way to 100, so long as I can stay competitive.
It would be nice though as I'm planning on hitting floor 100 of the Shadow Vault which will probably carry me way past 100. If that gets too difficult then I'll retire that character & just try the Vault alone with a new one.

I just ran a Vanq that was pretty straight through to 100.
I did every Quest dungeon and every Phase Portal that presented, and about 3-4 map scrolls with critters in the m-level 28-32 range.
I went into the Shadow Vault once at first to lock the level progression, then did the campaign, then a straight run through the SV until character hit 100.
Character was wearing about +40% XP gear or better from ~c-level 30 on. Using Ember Fish eyes to enter most levels. Taking and completing all 3 quests for each SV level.

I was on Floor 71 when the character hit 100.
Getting to floor 100 VHHC is certainly doable, because after all, the Phase Portals are all same level. "Be friggin' CAREFUL" will be the watchword for all floors beyond about 62.
Going much beyond floor 100 will be an accomplishment, indeed.
