Torchlight technology

Hi everybody...I hear that torchlight uses Ogre. Great news!
I've seen the video about level creation...the editor is amazing, but I was wondering HOW do you translate the different pieces created as the level architecture (rooms, walls) into stuff for ogre. Do you "melt" all the static stuff in a single mesh?
I'm very curious about it :)

Keep it rocking, I've always loved Diablo and Hellgate, and I'm loving also TorchLight!

you might want to read through that entire thread; the devs answer some questions about modding in it
I don't know enough about graphics to determine if your question is actually answered in it :x , but I think you'll find some useful and interesting information in there

Demiurge - yes we do actually. Each piece is loaded up and then constructed into a single mesh. A nice feature of how we are doing it is that we can actually flag specific pieces not to be welded together. This allows for us to make nice large static pieces( nice performance boost ) with the occasional secret door or animated room piece.
