The Alchemist is a magic/summoning class. The Vanquisher is a ranged DPS class. No class is limited to its general build, however, and can be played in a variety of ways....

Hi, looking for info on the voice acting for the ingame narrator (eg. Status msgs: 'Your pet has departed'). Sounds very much like the person who narrated the Dungeon Keeper titles - I loved the voice acting in those and am enjoying Torchlight's very much also. Can't seem to find credits for the game anywhere.

(Just played the game for the first time. Nice change of pace, graphically reminds me of Dungeon Keeper also, if it could've had this quality of graphics in 97-99)

Nope. Richard Riddings was the voice of the narrator in the first two Dungeon Keeper games. He isn't in Torchlight.

Here's the cast list for Torchlight (from IMDB);

Lani Minella ... Vanquisher / Syl / Ordrak / Gemcutter Elf / Additional Voices (voice)
Sam A. Mowry ... Alric / Destroyer / Miner / Additional Voices (voice)

Eric Newsome ... Gerard / Innkeeper / Additional Voices (voice)
Tim Simmons ... Overseer (voice)
Marc Biagi ... Alchemist / Bard / Old Wizard Merchant (voice)
Bill Corkery ... Blacksmith / Transmutor (voice)
Marc Rose ... Gambler / Green Goblin Merchant / Additional Voices (voice)
Dave Rivas ... Brink / Miner / Additional Voices (voice)

I'm going to guess that the voice in game you're referring to was provided by Sam A. Mowry, but that's just a guess.

Yeah, Alric's voice and the narrator/information voice did sound very alike.

Was the gemcutter girl really supposed to be an elf? I never noticed.

No, she's really just your typical rustic young woman with purple hair, pale skin, and pointy ears.

Neither purple hair nor pale skin make me think "elf."
If she really has pointy ears, I never noticed. It's possible I've been desensitized to seeing normal-size elf ears due to the Warcraft series' crazy long elf ears.

I'm still looking for the answer to this question of free mobile phone unlock codes. Thanks.

Yes, I am using around 90-100 characters. They are just enough for me.

I was playing again recently, and looked at this NPC studiously, and I noticed a couple things:
One, I was right about her ears being really small. Had it not been pointed out to me that she had elf-ears I would never have seen them.
Secondly, I just realized that her purple hair was what I had been assuming had been some sort of purple cowl or hood this whole time. Interesting.

Well, to be fair, Ark, nowhere in-game, on line, or in the manual that I have seen do the creators ever refer to her as an elf. In fact, I'm not sure that they have EVER referred to elves in any discussion of the Torchworld.

Do any of the effects on your inactive weapon set apply?

Load your character up with +XP booster gear, then grind relatively easy levels (anything 1-20 or so)...but just kill the bosses + anything you need to wack to stay in motion.

It appears (from my 1337 google research skills) that there is a soft level cap of 99. That is, you can level up to 99 and not progress beyond that point. But apparently the endgame includes certain ways to raise attributes (possibly skill points? I dunno) beyond leveling up.
