You should never have to re-buy a game you already bought because you ran out of keys.

Thanks, Travis. My $20, possibly $40, will go to Runic directly, provided PayPal is offered. :)

I want to pre-purchase from Steam but I need a demo first. I hope they will release the demo before the game's release.

The demo IS the game. If you get it from Runic, you download game first, play a certain amount of it, and if you like it, you can buy the unlock key and play the rest. Not sure if Steam (etc) are doing the same thing or how that works.

I want to buy the game from Steam, because Steam is my only online store. I hope they will make similar thing before the release or make a different demo. I just want to try the gameplay.

I just bought it from steam, Sorry devs lose the little cut but i would rather get it for that than end up having an illegal version and they lose out 100%. Best thing is i am out of the office till 27th evening my time anyway so by the time i am back in my gaming chair and recoverd my Torchlight download and install will be waiting.

Well, if you insist. Don't mind if I do.

Also, the nice thing about Steam is gifting. But I'm sure you could work out some way to gift a Runic-direct version to someone.

Bonus Question: Can you figure out which types of games I like playing? ;)

wow, only 14,39€ on steam!
this must be the first game on steam that doesnt have the pricetag of valves stupid 1$=1€ policy. because normally if a game costs 20$, valve fools us europeans by taking 20€.

They gave us the option to set the European price - I don't know if all developers get that option, but we did.
I honestly don't know if it is usually developer-set or not, but it may be.

Valve doesn't set prives for games they didn't make.

BUT WAIT!
if you guys pay 17,99$ on steam, we europeans still have to pay way more!!!
18$ are 12€ but we have to pay 14,5€ on steam!!!

even if the price would be the normal 20$ for the game, that would be 13,5€ and not 14,5€!

As you said, that is not Valve's decision. This is devs/publishers decision to set game's european money.

The reason for the slight increase over a 1-1 cost comparison for European cash is that there's a VATS tax for those transactions that gets folded in. At least I think that's what it's called. I'm mildly delirious.
