Problem with cut scenes

Postby WihteSparrow » Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:17 pm

Hey guys. The entire game is playing fantastically...I have only run into one issue and that is the cut scene animations. Everything is being played (animation wise) very slowly and the sound is skipping. It plays approximately half a second of sound and then pauses for about a half a second so it "sounds" something along the lines of "Ben....eath....tor....chlight...." for the opening cinematic. I assume it's some kind of hardware conflict. Any ideas what it could be and or how to fix it? This exact same thing happened when I played the Beta as well. I would love for the 2nd act's cut scene to be played normally!! :D

I've only encountered the initial cut scene so far and I had sound stuttering issues too.

I encountered the same annoying problem during beta. What is really troubling is that they are BIK files which just about every game that has movies/cut scenes uses. This is the first time in years that I've had a problem with them. Unfortunately Runic did not personally do the game's cinemas and outsourced it to another company.

Same problem here, severe sound stuttering at the initial cut scene. Haven't played long enough for any other cut scenes.

Using Steam.

I have exactly the same problem.... BUT

I played the intro video (intro.bik) from the movies folder directly (with the windows explorer using bink video player) and it plays flawlessly.....

You can also play the other (in-game hidden) videos if you wish (ABSOLUTE SPOILER OF COURSE)

Good to know I can watch the videos anytime out of game. Thanks for the information. I watched the intro on Youtube because of this problem.

Not really adding anything new, but just adding my name to the list. Glad at least to see I'm not the only one!

Adding my name to the list too.

It'd be nice if the cutscenes got uploaded to youtube or something at the very least.

I'll be looking at this, but it probably won't squeak into the first patch-

Awsome, i did do as suggested and verified that there was no Windows Update at the time , or since. It still happens.

try turning down shadows and see if that helps. That is what did it to me in the beta.

Thats an odd fix given the cinematics in question. I will indeed try it though, thanks.

They're all pretty much unwatchable for me.

I think that we all just need better computers.
