I have the same issue as you. I have no hardware change either except a new wireless adapter and wireless keyboard:D. Upgraded my Windows from 7 to 8 and have been stuck at the Reactivation Required screen since. I opened a ticket in the Runic Games support site, a support tech gave me an executable (TL2LicenseReset.exe) but that didn't solve the problem. Upon running the executable a message showed on the console saying "Untested windows version 6.2 detected". When I launched the game again the Reactivation Required screen still appeared with no place to re-enter the product key...
I'll report back if I can get another reply from the support site tomorrow.

I just tried the steps above and on step 3 it still says the license needs to be reactivated.
note: on running the TL2LicenseReset.exe file it says "Qt: Untested windows version detected 6.2" though it shouldn't be a problem as Qt is only a UI library...
