What is torchlight's lore?...

After learning about how easy Runic makes it to mod their game (I've done a little modding before in other games), I thought it might be fun to try my hand at making a couple of classes for TL2 after it releases. I would, however, like to know more about the lore so that the new characters I make will fit right into the universe.

All I can remember from Torchlight was that ember was in high demand, but was also detrimental to people who had too much contact with it... Does anyone remember anything else? specifically what role technology plays in the culture? Also, does anyone know about the game's gods or demons? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. =)

Ahh thanks. =) Is there more info out there on TL's lore?

Honestly, I think nearly all of the known lore is in TL1 + the stuff on the TL2 website. There's just not a whole lot so far.

TO be honest I always think of torchlight I town as some town located in discworld... and it kinda makes sense
