A post of "We are trying to solve the problem/It's being QA right now. If all goes well, we will try to have it available by end of day."

That's all they have to do.

I said it in a previous post, I semi-doubt we hear from them until they have something good to say, especially due to the outpouring of hatred after the editor wasn't released yesterday. You really think they're going to post any kind of specific date now? They'll post when it's finished.

Besides, for everyone crying, try Modern Warfare 2. Came out today, 60 bucks, and the 'invite friend' doesn't work. At least on PS3 anyway. I can only imagine the all out tantrum THEIR message board is having right now.

No dedicated servers, no mods, only 9v9 maps, no custom maps, 8 hour single player, and $60. Anyone who buys the PC version is an idiot.

A lot of people don't even have the hotfix or the v1.12 patch available yet. That should be priority over anything.

All distributions have the patch. It's up to the user if they want to install it or not.

I am not a game developer and I am not sure how bugs work...but...

How big could the bug be? I mean they were close to releasing it yesterday and it slipping by un-noticed up until almost right about releasing the editor (not exactly when they were planning on releasing it) but it was gold. So it was close to release. How could a little bug like that be a big show-stopper? Like I said, I really don't know anything about programming but am curious...lol

Thanks again Runic for your hard work, as frustrating as it is....keep it up!

They aren't available on all the sites yet. I'm still waiting for the GamersGate hotfix and D2D still doesn't have the v1.12 patch up yet. The world doesn't revolve around Steam.

Programming can be a fickle b*tch. Never underestimate the impact of a bug. It's true that you can get minor bugs that don't have a huge impact on your programs functionality, but then again, there are also those that can force you to completely rewrite whole sections of code.

Just being a realist, sorry if that puts anyone on a downer. Let's hope it's minor ;)

sometimes the bugs that are the worst ones to fix are the ones you find at the last moment. This is due to their usually close intregration to something core. I had a bug last week like this, In my animation and Pose library where everything looked good, then it broke in a very bad way. It took mos to fthe day to fix the break, it was mostly in finding where the break was happening. Finding the problem can be half the challenge to begin with.

The fix was rather easy to administer but getting there took time. This was one a simple script of about 1000 lines of MaxScript. The editor is far more complex than that I am sure of.

Ahhh. Gotcha. So even a little, unnoticed and overlooked issue can be a pain in the arse to fix! It could be a while then I guess! Oh, well. As long as it works, that is all I care about.
