MMO Requests Thread

Introduction

I thought that it would best be wise to have a thread where a list of requests from the community could be found, i.e if you want crazy axe wielding bunnies to be part of a high level dungeon, it would be added in a category in a list below.

So please reply to this thread with what you want to see in the game and it will be added into a category, hopefully the thread will be stuck and viewable by the devs when they have the time. I will not put pointless requests into the lists.

Utilities(such as UI)


    Better spellls and abilities layout - Spells and abilities in Torchlight were not efficiently designed into the UI, they need to be more easily usable


Support



    Game Master "in queue" feature - It would be useful to be able to see where you are in a queue to gain Game Master support while waiting, such as "In queue 256 out of 578"


Other Features


    Extensive achievements section

Public Quests

I played Warhammer Online for awhile, and one of the things I enjoyed about it the most was the public quests. I would love to see that in the Torchlight MMO. :mrgreen:

This might not be in the best spot, but I would like to encourage Runic to include an extensive achievements section in the MMO, similar to WoW's and Warhammer's.

Mythos had achievements for everything from picking 100 belts to kicking a spider boss to death. I'm sure they'll have something in the Torchlight MMO as well.

would that be ACTUALLY kicking, like, no weapons/skills/spells, and just having your char KICK it to death? 0_0

because if that is the case... it deserves a 15 on a 1 to 10 scale of awesomeness :D

Well, to be fair you could acquire the achievement by using skills and weapons until it got down until it had barely any health, and then taking your weapon off and repeatedly kicking it (like you would a barrel) until it died.

The achievements system in Mythos was great. Every achievement gave you a bonus you could equip to your character, and you had a new slot open every time you gained 10 levels. I always loaded up on movement speed or melee damage achievement bonuses. So like, if you picked up a lot of shoes/boots you could unlock the achievement that made you run faster.

okay, this either gets into the MMO, or i am flooding runics mailbox till it they add it 0_0

I want the Achievements and Crafting system from Mythos again... but to be honest can they really re-use the idea they already had in their former game? Since Redbana/Hanbitsoft/whoever owns Mythos and all that goes along with it, having too identical a system could result in legal problems.... or at least I assume so, I'm no lawyer.

prior-art, they can copy it completely, aslong as they either:
A) give it a diferend name
B) make it look diferend
C) make it have 1 slightly diferend thing

crafting and achievements are pretty much "default" features in MMO's, making it impossible to copyright them at all

I suppose the "change 1 thing" thing might work for the achievements and crafting. I know the ideas of the two things are not unique, but the way they handled it was kind of unique and really fun.

its all based on prior art, and in such an amount that it is not possible to copyright..

aslong as it aint a 100% copy, its allowed
