What playable races would you like to see?

they're so cool. idk why but they remind me of evil penguins.. first time i played the game a bunch of them came out of a hole in the ground and i shouted out "GAH STAY BACK YOU !@#$ING GROUND PENGUINS". i honestly thought that the sound of your dog getting attacked was what their noise was.

Don't see why all the races couldn't be included (with unique skills/playstyles), assuming they have a bunch of time for this project.

They could even let us mix 'n match races and skills like (sorry-to-bring-it-up-again-but-it's-a-good-example) world of warcraft.

As always, if someone wants to teach me how to do this stuff, I'd gladly do a bunch of free work once capable lol

While I am not necessarily a huge fan of races I think the Indy 500 would probably be good as a playable race.
Though I don't see what point races would have in TL.

In lieu of other animal suggestions I'd love to be a shapeshifter. I'm enfatuated with big cats and panthers and it would be very need to take on the characteristics of my pet or be an animal.

Definitely zealots. Always felt so dirty when I had to kill them... although I don't recall Valeria- the friendly one- mentioned on the first page. Suppose I need to load it up again. /:3

I think the Blood Disciples, the hooded enemies with the polearms that charged at you, were the male versions of the same species.

(Hate to admit it, but... I feel compelled to, since I'm obviously so clueless on TL lore: I've never actually beat TL1. Will look into addressing that before 2 comes out, though.)

That's probably why you never saw Valeria. She and her little pygmy friend, Gar (yes, there is also a friendly pygmy), are questgivers that show up in the graveyard area south of town. Their quests are for the infinite dungeon, the Shadow Vault, and the dungeon only opens (and the questgivers only show up) after you beat the main dungeon at least once.

me really hope there is other races playable besides humans and human-like races. me really dislike playing as humans and will rarely play a game where you can only be one (its a rare exception). an MMO with only human/human-like races is a definite auto "no play" for me.

me prefer to play as Undead (favorite: Skeletons) and Androids/Robots.

mostly all MMOs that has come and gone just doesn't ever interest me because they only have humans and human-like races. how many MMOs do we need where there is only humans, elves (which are basically humans with pointy ears), some race that looks like humans but has horns on its head, dwarf, 3rd race that looks like humans but has blue skin, forest elf, 4th race that looks like humans but has bigger muscles than the 1st race...... etcetera....

please make the Torchlight MMO stand-out. make it something me would want to play. me really like the "action-RPG" type game-play, and would love to play an MMO like that, but not if there is going to only be boring races that me wont care for.

Heh, there could be a class that builds ember constructs and can temporarily control them directly, complete with their own small set of skills. They could be used for scouting dangerous areas, drawing aggro, planting bombs (assuming monsters are ignoring them at the time), etc.
