Drakensang compares itself to D3 and TL2

Quite Hilariously too, that Massively tagged it as Humor.

Drakensang wins in every category!

Joking aside for a bit, this chart is kinda showing respect to Runic that Torchlight 2 is something to fear.

If this isn't some kind of a joke, I can only say this... (rather turn my face into this)

I mean, PVP mode? In Torchlight 2? :? This is so bad, that something tells me these guys are serious... and they haven't even done the slightest research.

And they throw off a stunt for D3 too... what do they find realistic about the environments and art style? It's almost an insult to the artists that worked so hard for that beautiful painterly style.

I never understood comparing MMOs to SPs for anything other than inflated marketing.

OH WAIT.

They left off the bottom comparison, I think. The one where it says 'Pay to win' and the only game without a chackmark is Torchlight II.

Amidst this mumbo jumbo TL2 is getting free publicity at least. People that don't know about it will think "Hey, what's this TL2 thing? Better check it out". Some will hate it, others will shrug it off, others will just love it and come join us ;)

Drakensang is a great concept and really GOOD looking game, especially for a browser game. You can't deny that as derivative as it is, the game has some pretty decent production values. That's why it's so unfortunate that they've basically made it such an amazing grindfest. Really. Don't bother playing unless you plan on spending money on it. It's really too bad. I think they should have taken the money they got from sales of their single player rpg and used it to make a pc or console version with multiplayer for a single price point, instead of trying to nickel and dime people.

You've played it Zidders? I was curious because I was going to make the comment that the "items available for real money" check point should have been a question mark, a minus sign or a red 'x' instead.

For a browser game, the visuals are actually pretty impressive. The character models are decent, there's barely any lag, even when you're surrounded by people. The inventory system is kinda cool. I mean, there's a ton of potential there, it's just they've made it so that you're only going to get decent gear by buying it, which to me defeats the entire purpose of playing the game. Drakensang the third person rpg was a decent game and I really liked the story and gameplay. I wish they'd done something like this the same way Bliz and Runic are publishing their game. Make it a really decent game and then sell it, rather than take a game with potential and ruin it with that kind of cash shop.

And yeah, yeah I know RMAH..I think people forget that there are two different auction houses, one that sells for real money and one that just uses gold, so it's not like anyone HAS to pay real money for items. Either save up gold or trade with friends.

They also forgot the Modding category, where TL2 is the only one with a checkmark.

I played it about a month or so ago. For a browser game it has nice graphics, but I was having way too much lag to play. My internet stick spikes too much play.

It's actually not a bad game at all, but it's not going to attract the same fans in the same way TL/D does, which is why the comparison's more than a little silly.

It did what it was supposed to though. The publicity they have received is far more than if they were to do a standard release (in my opinion).

I played Drakensang, I almost wanted to kill myself. Instead I just install Torchlight 1 and played that a bit and everything was ok.
