Aug 18, 2010: Updated mod to Final.
=========================================================================================================

Version: V3.0 Final: Changes from last version made in GREEN

+ ENCHANTER: FIRST 10 ENCHANTS ARE 100% NO-WIPE. AFTER THAT, THE CHANCE TO WIPE INCREASES BY 1% EVERY 5 ENCHANTS UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 5% TO WIPE.

+ ENCHANTER HAS 75% TO SUCCESSFULLY ENCHANT AN ITEM (25% SOCKET CHANCE) AND 25% CHANCE ENCHANTS WILL FAIL.

+ MAXIMUM ## OF ENCHANTS CAN BE ENCHANTED BY ENCHANTER AND SHRINES IS 1000 SUCCESSFUL ENCHANTS.

+ ENCHANT SHINES HAVE 100% NO WIPE. 100% TO ENCHANT ITEMS WITH MAGICAL BONUSES. 0% CHANCE TO ENCHANT SOCKET.

+ PRICE OF ENCHANTS FROM 0.25 TO 0.25.


+ MORE POWERFUL MAGICAL ITEMS: NEW MAGICAL ITEMS CAN HAVE 2 TO 5 MAGICAL BONUSES.

+ MORE POWERFUL RARE ITEMS: NEW RARE ITEMS CAN HAVE 5 TO 10 MAGICAL BONUSES.

+ MORE POWERFUL UNIQUE ITEMS: NEW UNIQUE ITEMS CAN HAVE 10 TO 20 MAGICAL BONUSES.


+ GREATLY INCREASED GREEN ITEMS CHANCE. NEWLY DROPPED WHITE ITEMS WILL HAVE 50% CHANCE TO BE GREEN.

+ GREATLY LOWER NORMAL ITEMS DROP RATE FOR SO MUCH LESS TRASHES. NORMAL ITEMS WEIGHT LOWERED FROM 5000 TO 250

+ GENTLY INCREASED MAGICAL ITEM DROP RATE. ITEM WEIGHT UPPED FROM 140 TO 250.

+ GENTLY INCREASED UNIQUE CHANCE. ITEM WEIGHT INCREASED FROM 18 TO 50.

+ GENTLY INCREASED SOCKET CHANCE. ITEMS HAVE 50% TO HAVE SOCKET. 50% OF THOSE TIME IT WILL BE 2 SOCKETS.


+ INCREASED BASE MANA REGEN GLOBALLY (MONSTERS ARE INCLUDED) FROM 2.2 TO 4.0

+ INCREASED BASE HEALTH REGEN GLOBALLY (MONSTERS ARE INCLUDED) FROM 0.0 TO 1.0 (MORE FUN, MONSTERS/BOSSES SHOULD REGEN IMO)

+ INCREASED BASE PET HEALTH REGEN FROM 0.40 TO 3.00

+ MERCHANT INVENTORY RESPAWN TIMER REDUCED FROM 30S TO 0S.



Please do let me know if you've found errors or anything that you would like me to correct or add. I will be more than please to help with what I can.

This mod should not be having any conflict with any mods unless it have globals.dat

Does this mod work with other mods? or are there conflicts?
Update: Had no problem running this with all the other mods I have but not going to say which ones cause I have too many lol!
However your mod is awesome don't need to worry about a wipe after 2 enchants thanks so much such a sweet mod good work :)!

1 Thing I noticed about this mod is using an existing character is not a good idea as he will wipe enchantments off a weapon,armor whatever pretty much!
I recommend you make a new character to use this mod!
It pretty much a heads up so make a new hero if you want this mod to work right.
If Torched1000x can fix this problem that would be great looking forward to future releases/updates!

hmm, that's odd! there is no where in the mod file that could possibly do that to your character's item UNLESS your items had been pre-enchanted over 50 times by enchanter and /or over 1000 times by both enchanter + Shines.

I myself have 3 characters with pre-exist with about 5-10th enchants on on weapons and armors on each characters. I disable, enable to mod, modify and change, and did all kinds of stuffs to the game many times BUT NEVER has wipes Occurred for me.

let me know if any of the above applied to you.

Ya looks like my items had been pre-enchanted thats why he wiped the things! Thats my bad!
I didn't realize that before but now that you brought it up thats what happened!
Thanks for the heads up on that :)!
I think what I'll do for now on is use non-magical weapon and armor for enchanting that way the chance of a wipe is rare thanks to your awesome mod!

You are welcome and thank you for using my mod.

regarding using non-magical items for enchanting, I do not think it will matter if you use non-magical, rare, or unique at all. First 1-10 successful enchants will never wipes. After that, the chance of wipe will increase by 0.5% up to maximum of 5% every successful enchant.

I update the mod to version 2.0. You might want to give it a try as the enchant cap increased to 100 enchants.

Update: I found the real problem I installed the zip and not the mod duh but this time the mod is going in :)!
Really helps if you unzip and install the mod properly lol!
Update 2: Well I was glad to download the new version and wasn't sorry I did the enchants are really making my day but my money goes so fast lol great job on this awesome mod :)!
I have 1 suggestion for an update but it might unbalance the game but it has something to do with sets.
I wanna keep you in suspense until I hear a reply from you later today :)!

I just started to play Torchlight again at beginning of August. My characters are level 10-30s. I play on hard and very hard to tested the mod for about 2 weeks before I uploaded version 3.0.
Please let me know if you found some thing that need to be correct.

Price of enchant was keep at 0.25 (original value) as I found it quite balance.

Enchanter enchant cap is 250th enchant just in cases. I personally only enchant my items to max of 10 enchants.

Health regeneration at 2.0 is just balance, at 3.0 it kinda very hard to kill bosses and monster with new characters.

I removed normal items drop by lower the item weight from 5000 to 0.0 because I think white items are just trashes that litter the play screen.

OMG!!!!!

I've finally gotten level 30 and got to Ordraak and let me tell you, He was INVINCIBLE!!
With health regeneration set at 2.0 in globals.dat, I fought him for like five minutes and could not get his HP down at all then run out of potions.
I thought "Awesome, a challenge!" so I came to town to prepare, 50 Health potions, 100 Mana potions, and new dual wielding two 700dps weapons. I thought "This is going to be fun!!"

10 minutes latter, after using almost every skills combination I can think off and almost out of health and mana potions while the boss still laughing at the missiles I launched at him, I have finally realized my mod is so broken....:( :( :(

I'm sorry for the inconveniences, I'm trying my best to keep it balance.

Updating mod to version 3.0Final to fix this.

Changes from version 3.0 to version 3.0Final:

Finally got home. Adjusted Global health regeneration to 1.0 and try again.

Took me about 4-5 minutes and about 60 potions but I finally got the boss down. It was AWESOME!!!

I'm trying out the infinite dungeons now and getting this character to level 50.

The mod seem very balanced to me right now. This should be my final version for this mod unless something else going to happen at higher level (like the health regeneration did with Ordrak.)

Is there a way to use this mod without the Health Regeneration part?

All my 3 characters have gameplay based on keeping your health and having health regeneration ruins the fun.

I have a heavy tank Destroyer 4 def/1 str, a ranged Paladin who is staying as far from enemies as possible and now I'm planning on leveling a Shaman which again has regenaration as an ability. However I like what you did with enchanting and the extra health for pet, so if there is a way pls tell me.

Go into the mod's folder, then into media, and open globals.dat with any text editor (Notepad, Wordpad).

Go to Edit -> Find (Ctrl+F) and search for "<FLOAT>HP_RECHARGE_RATE:1" without quotations.

Change the "1" to "0". Do the same for Mana right above it but change the "4" to "2.2" if you want original rate for that also.

Make sure to save it and you're good to go.

This is kinda weird but for rewards from the ember/wizard guy who wants to study the embers only gives me maps as a reward any idea what might be causing this?
However all the other rewards from npc's are 1 unique and one regular which is what I'm liking alot thanks so much for this updated mod :)!

Sorry, I have been very busy for last few days.

(I'm assumed you are asking about the " Random Quests Reward Unique" mod.) You may already have figured out the answer already, but here is the info anyway :)
Regarding your question, Vasman (who studies Embers) is a Main Story Quests NPC. He give out map as the sole reward very often during the main story quest. It's been coded that way some where I cannot find that information, therefore I could not change it. Sorry.

The good news is that once you have completed the story, he will be giving out quests that offer 1 unique + regular. I've always like it when I compare the unique item vs the regular reward that I would have gotten.
