[MAP] Meeny Miney Mo v1.1

Some colourful notes! (that are so very important, so please let your eyes bleed and read on).

Note: This MapMod modifys /dungeon/main.dat (the main game's dungeon). It modifys Strata2 (Orden Mines Lvl3 with a new ruleset so that the chunk connection for this MapMod will spawn. This may cause a conflict if you have installed another modification that also modifies the main.dat.

Note2: If you do not want to modify your main.dat download the MapPortal version.

Note3: Do not, under any circumstances, install both versions of the MapMod. Doing so will cause conflicts and all around explosions. I haven't actually tested this but am 92% what I am saying is true: if you install both versions your computer will explode and your house will burn down.

Description

Miner Mo needs help! Some Ratties have taken up the call for higher wages and such and that just doesn't float in the Mining Industry. Miner Mo has tasked you with bashing some heads together to sort this whole mess out.

(note: Miner Mo is hiding out on Level 3 of the Orden Mines).

The map was designed to be played during the normal course of the game and is designed for characters level 1-10.

Features:

    2 level dungeon (1 main level, 1 boss level) (all new chunks)*

    Modified Ratlin Chute Spawner (Spawns Fearless Ratlins)

    Modified Ratlins - Hasty Ratlin (a bit faster) and Fearless Ratlin (doens't run when allys die)

    Modified UniqueChampionForemenRatlins

    5 Intractable Journals

    (Meeny) Miner Mo

    MapPortal Ver - Portal Map to Level

Differences between versions.

    The MapMod places a map_piece in normal play that has a certain Miner who opens the way to Meeney Mine. He also gives you a quest to kill some Ratlin Unionists.

    The MapPortal spawns a purchasable portal_map that will open a portal to the Meeny Mines. No quest is given and so you miss out on some XP and Fame (and the lovely Miner Mo) but otherwise the maps are essentially the same.

Added Non-Set Epic versions of Miner's Axe and Miner's Hoop.
Item Miner's Axe will spawn after a certain creature is defeated.

*if you want to see these chunks in regular play download my Mine Boost Pack 3.0 (to be released shortly, heh), I have modified them to show up in normal play without the additional aspects used in this MapMod.

just a small update adding in some items (one of which will spawn everytime in the adventure if you kill the right monster). all dl links have being updated.

Miner mo is walking around behind a cavein... I can 't get to him... I know, i know, leave and let the map respawn..
right after i wiped out the entire level3...


EDIT: NM.. there was a plunger nearby to blow it open.. thats weird tho, the plunger was on lower ledge.. ive never seen that before... did you redo level3 or a lvl 3 chunk? (Im a noob when it come to chunks..)

lol if only i read... i like to read tho really...

EDIT #2: Just got done.. Very Cool level design.. very refreshing from the basic mine layouts... i liked the steps using them as a giant staircase.. multileveled dungeon on 1 level... good work man

I got the weapon... i was hoping for the other part of the set at the end of level 2... :P

very late reply, but glad you sorted it out working and cheers for the feedback! :)

I had thought of adding in the second half of the set in but thought it might lop-side the start of the game for new characters if they're running around with a complete weapon set. the second half of the set should hopefully just spawn as loot sometime, i haven't had it drop for me but i'm sure it's out there in a troll's pocket somewhere!

Lovely mod, but I had to uninstall it (Map Version). Seems to cause my game some ugly errors.
I played through it, but when I left the additional part in the mines for the second time (or did I enter it again? I'm not sure anymore, sorry to say), the game froze for a second and closed instantly without any error messages. If I restarted the game, I was able to load my character, but as soon as I saw myself standing in some mines, it closed again the same way. After I deactivated the mod, I was still able to load my save state. This time, I was in the Room of Enchantment from the Moog the Enchanter mod. When I tried to leave through the portal, I heard the city music and the game crashed (the Windows way - send, don't send, that stuff, not sure how it's called in English). I restarted, same procedure. This time, I tried ascend via the console, ended up in the Room of Enchantment again, but was able to leave through the portal to end up in Level 3 of the dungeon. I closed the game, reactivated the Meeny Miney Mo Map mod, everything was fine...until one of my ocular golems (golem mod pack) attacked a foe. When the ray hit it, the game froze and crashed the Windows way. After I deactivated the Meeny Miney Mo Map mod again, I was able to resume the game.
I hope I could help finding a bug, or maybe an incompatibility. If necessary, I'll try to provide as much additional information as possible.

hey, Aironfaar. I haven't looked at the mod since I last released it but I do think there are some comparability issues (it freaked out for me when i started making another mod alongside it).

I don't think I will revisit it to fix it. Sorry! :)
