Guild vs Guild pvp

I think that games with player guild run cities and castles are fun, but the ones I've tried were by horrible developers and are glitched *coughMortalOnlinecough* beyond repair, I think Runic games could do better. What would be even cooler is a guild airship, like the ones dungeons and dragons have! That is the most requested feature in any mmo I've played and it would work well in the Torchlight universe. PvP involving these places would be quite interesting and from what I've seen, Torchlight 2's duel function is good, these battles would be on a bigger scale.

Imagine dozens of players fighting in Torchlight, it would be so fast paced and exciting :o ! Imagine sieges with steampunk siege enegines on castles and towns! Aerial battles with zeppelins!

Just a suggestion, I will undoubtedly play Torchlight Online if it comes out, but this would make me s***-my-pants excited about it

I am also a proponent of guild town and hall battles :P

Talking about big PvP-events.. In every game that has PvP mode it is possible to create a massive PvP event. Let's take WoW as an example: you are encouraged to fight with your gild at battlegrounds to have some points, but you can also get your guild then call some guilds from opponent side and just start fighting, no matter where. But, in my opinion, there must not be smth like people can fight ONLY in big raids, which would make 1v1 or 2v2 unnesesary, borring and very long. There must be possibility for every kind of PvP (not like in Warhammer Online, where you only can take over sities by some BIG amounts of people)

But it surelly would be cool to see "dozens of players fighting in Torchlight". Tons of flashlights...

P.S. And, yes, PvP sucks, bring us some PvE

Warmachine "PvP"? Please, never again. WoW tried it, and it was a disaster. There's nothing more un-fun than being forced to spam damage spells at some inanimate objects while the opposing side is getting free shots at you. Or driving a siege machine where your only purpose is to park near a wall and mash 1 key repeatedly. It's not PvP, it's more like.. player vs. wall. How exciting.

World PvP as people like to imagine it never really pans out. It's never even, it's never fair, and it's seldom fun because the outcome is usually determined by numbers alone (assuming max char levels, normal gear for that level etc.) and it almost always encourages ganking, camping and other sorts of griefing which plague the PvP scene in basically every MMO.

But yeah, some sort of "instanced" guild vs guild pvp where you could determine the number of people participating on either side is definitely something that all MMOs should have in order to cater to everybody's tastes.

I and many of my buds thoroughly enjoy Strands of the Ancients on WoW, and back when Wintergrasp was new it was really fun as well. World PvP though is bad because it doesn't last and eventually ends up with the problems you mentioned. However Guild vs Guild style stuff would be amusing IMO. If it was essentially Wintergrasp instanced for a set number of guild members, I could see it being very popular.

Here's an idea for guild vs guild pvp. Create an area with TorchED and add it to a mod that contains a premade character complete with gear. There can be different versions of this mod, each with the same starting area but featuring a different character class. This would allow everyone to start with a new character. Each character would have the same gear, or gear of the same quality as the other classes only attuned to that class.

This would allow for a level playing field for guild battles, help eliminate cheating and make the battles based on skill alone. What do you folks think? Seeing as i'm not really an expert on modding, this may get laughed at lol
