Err... Special Belts?

Made to request (from this thread)...

Codpiece Mod!
a.k.a. i must be really bored! LOL!

Gave it a RARITY of "5" but I don't really know just how rare that is!

Here's what the inventory icon looks like...

Thanks for taking my "request" seriously! I think you are on to something, and Runic would be wise to add such a useful and hysterical concept for TL2.
"Studded Codpiece of Enduring"! Too much and perfect in every way! More more more! Can't wait to see the others...

Suggestions for names:

Simmering codpiece of the Lobster
Epic Codpiece of the Elephant
Twisted Codpiece of the RonJeremy
Dark Chastity Belt of the Void
Tricky Chastity Belt of the Mimic

Anyway, just a few ideas! LMFAO!

Actually 5 in rarity is pretty rare indeed. That means it will come up less than the "rifle with no name". This is a hilarious mod. There have been some other fun things I have thought of. Tiara's, moccasins of sneakiness, etc.

Keeping with the Torchlight theme, you could also make these items 'fishable' just like the magical boots... :lol:

Funny Phanjam - too bad that belts have no display slot on the wardrobe though once equipped. Wonder if they will in TL2? I know we get pants, but belts I'm not certain on.

Also, a rarity of 5 is extremely rare. So rare in fact you'll probably never see it drop. I had set several of my rare armor pieces I modded to a rarity of 200 and it was still very rare to find one that would drop.

Hey everyone! Really appreciate all your great ideas and feedback and feel badly about moving slowly on this (real life is in my face right now :( ).

So I went ahead and posted the mod in its current state, so anyone with the inclination (and more time than I) can start adding more whacky pieces to it :D !

Brix and Rusty, thanks for the inputs on the RARITY value. I've increased it to 250 in the uploaded mod (v0.1b)

EDIT - if anyone wants to add pieces but needs help on the inventory icons, I can still do that for ya :mrgreen:

Actually, rarity appears to be based on the number of items in the same drop pool. I found this out the hard way when I made my magic potions and the rarity 7 ones were still common as dirt.

So with a item pool as well populated as armors, its going to need something to rise to the top.

Spacepirate's right, rarity is in relation to other items, rather than a static value. Chance to drop = (item's rarity) / (rarity of all other items in the pool)
Let's say you've got 4 items, all of which have a rarity of '1' then they've all got a 25% chance to drop.
If you then left Item A at '1' and set item's B, C and D to 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Item A's would drop to 10%, Item B would drop to 20%, Item C would raise to 30% and Item D would raise to 40%.
If you then changed Item A's rarity to 91, It would have a 91% chance to drop, while B, C and D would drop to 2%, 3%, and 4%.
But if you changed them to 9100, 200, 300 and 400 the drop rates would stay the same.

All of the belt's have a rarity of 100, but there's a version of each for all 3 classes. So if you want it to be as common as the other belt's, it's rarity should be '300'

But anyway, Nice codpiece :P

BUT...a codpiece is more than just a cover for the private parts. It's also decorative!
Do a google search on real codpieces in history, and then see what you create!
