Borderlands 2 Launch Trailer

Postby Risingsun » Fri Feb 24, 2012 12:31 am

I know Borderlands is thought of pretty fondly on these boards, so I was wondering what everyone thought of the insane Borderlands 2 launch trailer:

I think it looks fantastic. It looks like Gearbox did a good job building on the solid foundation of the original.

dubstep fits the borderlands universe perfectly. i really enjoyed the first game, and will be playing co-op with my friends when the second comes out.

Claptrap was the best part.

This was some seriously awesome stuff. I really look forward to the game.

The graphics are so beautiful, and the boom so ecstatic.

Loved the first one(kinda biased though I suppose), but this looks fantastic. I have a lot of friends busting their asses on this, and it's showing. Can't wait.

Loved the first one. Can't wait for the second. 4 player coop is awesome. Mixes the best aspects of a FPS shooter with the loot collecting of a ARPG. What can go wrong?

Mmm. I'll be honest and say that I really don't like dubstep. I can't give a reason why, other than "old age." I guess it's my equivalence of "Damned kids and their rap music."

Anyway, there were a lot of interesting things going on in that trailer. The claptrap(s) are always a welcome sight. I'm curious if that Zero character is more melee oriented than a long range sniper for this game and how they would handle the defenses for such a frail looking character. The game does have more variety in colour and probably environments, but based on my play experience with the last game, it's unlikely I'll get it at launch.

I never really got into the first game. I felt like it took a bunch of features from different genres and applied the bare minimum to create this hodge-podge of gaming features that were there but were never there. Looks like they're putting more focus on the talent trees this time around though so that view might change.

Anyone know what's wrong with the audio on that video? It's all glitchy and weird, had to mute it.

I don't think the game can disappoint, it's going to have more monsters, more weapons, and new vehicles, which is all I really wanted, but if they also added all sorts of other new features then that's just the bee's knees.

I'm excited myself. :) Should be a lot of fun here and the trailer got me fairly pumped. Got to see so many familiar faces in it as well.

This is going to be a day one purchase for me. I loved the original game and I am super excited about the sequel.

That is, sadly, a genre of music.

Agree - dubstep is horrible. Again, I'm showing my age I suppose (31) - this shit isn't even good techno/house/trance or dance music. But I digress.../rerail

Yay for Borderlands 2 - I freaking loved the first one!

I'm with Doom. I love Dubstep. I listen to pretty much every single genre of music, mostly because I feel too many people make the mistake of thinking music has to fit into genre's, when genre should really be a guideline, NOT a rule. I mean. how the hell do you fit someone like Frank Zappa into any single genre? His music is comprised of so many different elements. Jazz, rock, metal, fusion, classical, bluegrass, and a ton of other styles, sometimes all of them within a single song.

I don't believe in closing my mind and ears to one specific 'style' of music just because some of the music within that 'style' of music might not be my cup of tea. Just because i'm not feelin' it when I hear something doesn't mean later on down the road I won't end up getting it. For the longest time, I hated 80's music, bands like Duran Duran, Culture Club, Blondie. I hated punk, I hated grunge. Now that I'M older (37) I find that my musical horizons have broadened over the years.

Pop, new wave, disco, metal, classical, jazz, funk, techno, dubstep, nerdcore, gangsta rap, classic and new hip hop, swing, punk...I listen to everything. Most of what I listen to most people probably wouldn't like..and that's ok.

14 minutes of off cam footage from the behind closed door PAX demo I think.

Nothing wrong with multiple genres.

I like Dubstep personally. All of you people saying that you're too old for it are crazy too. My 83 year old great grandmother likes anything from Nero to Skrillex. Oh, and she's a huge fan of Lady GaGa.
