Two months from today... Now the question is, how will this affect Torchlight 2? Co-existence may not be a problem but I can't see either company wanting the two games to come out within a week of each other

Where the hell in the world are you? Pre-purchase was only $60 for me.
I'm still a little disbelieving that there's a strong relational correlation that could made if both companies releasing close together. It's not like a movie release where they have a limited run or window of opportunity. Once the games are released they have a long distribution lifetime compared to the good ol' days. I'm sure the sales numbers might look odd and there would certainly be some short term effects of releasing close together. However in the long term I think anything strange will eventually smooth out and show the real story. Whatever the case I'd be surprised if D3 didn't blow TL2 out of the water in every way possible regarding sales. It's just the difference in nature between the two companies. As much as we all love Runic they're not on the same level as running their own dedicated convention. I'm sure we're all hoping for a good David vs. Goliath story but I think that will be more in the eye of the beholder.
