just killed Ordrak last night.

was that the end of the game?
i know there's the Shadow Vault. i have a friend that's 20 or 30 floors into it, but the storyline has ended. it just seems to be bonus material that goes on infinitely(?)

was that the end of the game? Yes, the end of the storyline. Congrats on completing the game with your first character!

I would now suggest looking at the mods over at RGF and see what you can do to make the game more extensive. That or start a new character class.

No, there's no end in the sense of "you are literally not able to play past this point." You can keep playing maps and playing through the Shadow Vault on the same character.
Your character will by default stop leveling up at either 99 or 100 (I forget which), though this is increasable via mods.

The two things that I will point out are:
1) the gear drops / discoveries continue to progress and improve up to about level 70 (though the top 'itme level' per se is 60 or 62, I think);
2) your characters enchantment results (at Shrines, not at the Town Enchanter) contimue to improve incrementally right up to c-level 100. (The town Enchanters results are based on itme level, so they will level off when the item levels top out.)

Make that 3 things:
You can retire your character once he/she completes the campaign, and pass down an item as an Heirloom to a new 1st level character. The item gets some additional buffs, and the character starts with one additional Skill point to distribute, for each succesive retirement involving that Heirloom. Max is 10 retirements/heirloomings.

PPS - did you complete the campaign with each of the 3 character types, with each of the 2-3 major style variants possible with each character type?

Well once you have done that, you feel this great sense of accomplishment. It just means you have completed the game and you have done everything basically possible.

You might also set yourself a goal of collecting some REALLY rare stuff, like a brace of Epic Stark Fists, or the Epic The Legendary Godhammer. I've got something over 2000 hours in the game and still haven't managed to scarf those. (I do have 1 Epic Stark Fist.)

I don't play a lily-white game with my farm character (Unique drop mod) , and I don't even have two Stark Fists. They are really that rare.

Oh, I had 2 regular Stark Fists (not Epics), for a little while, about 6 months ago. Um...I decided to...er... put just a little enchantment on them, one at at time, you know, maybe 5 layers or so...keeping it "safe".

...And yet I get the feeling that some folks whom I advise on the ins and outs of enchanting seem to think that I don't understand the true frustration and pain that can come with the wipe of a nice item. Ha! Pikers.
