What if...there is a Torchlight II Collector's Edition?!

Postby RENhOLdER » Fri Apr 13, 2012 1:01 pm

Now we all know that Torchlight II does not have a CE...but what if???

How much do you think would it be priced or...how much are you willing to pay for a Torchlight II CE???

Also, just in case, what bonuses, what exclusive stuff, what collectibles would Runic bundle with it or...what bonuses, what exclusive stuff, what collectibles would you like to have???

I would buy two copies. :] Not sure how much it would cost, but who cares - Runic deserves whatever they ask for this great game; especially a collector's edition.

Already planning on buying two copies so I can play with my brother.

Boy-o, yer' gonna poke someone's eyes out with that many question marks!
On-topic: I would buy the absolute shit out of the Collector's Edition. Because A) figurines or keychains or whatever they decide to include, B) the official soundtrack in .flac format, which they would most certainly not miss and C) just trying to do my thang to help the devs out, y'know?
PEACE.

Then we'd have this conversation for the third time.

I'm thinking any kind of retail release would already be a collector's edition. Put in some real badass box art, a nifty instruction booklet/artbook, soundtrack. Maybe even do that thing Westwood used to do with C&C I think, which was include two copies of the game per box.

Max is pretty adamant boxes suck. The cost isn't worth it. tl;dr: Don't hold your breath.

What about a statue of Falcor biting a USB stick shaped like Ember stone? It would look nice sitting upon my subwoofer, beside the Diablo skull (the one included in the D3 CE)...

I think there's something in his contract stating that players shalt not worship graven images...

20 dollar boxed version may not worth it, but 40 dollar boxed collector's edition with 2 keys may worth it, due to the material cost is reduced to half, and still keeping the promise of 20 dollar for each key

yeah to be honest I would rather that if Runic got a deal with some other company for TL merch they wouldn't do it just for a CE. Taking into account previous discussions on how expensive it is, a limited box run of $40 for one disc, two keys w/ OST on-disc and maybe a foldout poster or something would already be a victory for box fans.

It's not a bad theory, but it just doesn't work that way.

In a day and age where digital downloads are fast becoming the norm, just what exactly are people collecting with these collectors editions?
A box that costs twice as much (or more) yet includes a series of bobbles which will eventually migrate to the trash hardly strikes me as the definition of collectable.

I take good care of my CEs. And I don't throw the statues away. So I'm not sure why you assume it ends up in the trash.
