Non-Steam multiplaying

Postby Skeletor » Mon Apr 23, 2012 11:40 am

So is there a way that i can invite online friends to join my game? Without the use of Steam, mind you coz I really don't like it. Also, Can a friend from overseas, say India, join a LAN game that me and my roommate have going on in London? Thanks in advance :D

It's probably possible to use something like Hammachi to play "local" LAN with other people.

Also, I'm pretty sure it won't force you to use Steam. There should be things like friends lists. If not though, you can just create a password protected game, and have your friend look it up.

I think you will have no issues or problems with playing multiplayer with non steam players.

I believe they are working on match making service likely built into the game.

Matchmaking is not limited to steam - you should be using the same matchmaking lobby.

Is there a reason you would want to play with friend in a faux LAN mode, vs just playing with friends over the internet in a friends-only game? You can limit games to only those who are in your friends list, and/or password protect them.

You can filter the game list to show only friend games, and it will show you the online status of any friends you have in the lobby. You can also add friends by email address or account name in the lobby.

That's a nice collection of features!
Torchlight 2 Rapid Respec - Putting the "hack" in "hack-n-slash"
StashNinja - INFINITE Stash for Torchlight 2
NullMod - Play together in the same multiplayer game with different mods!

Are there any guild functions in the lobby? Or is it friends list only?
