Actually, the reason why Titan Quest and Grim Dawn seem boring to me is because I find the genre tolerable at best. I find a game like Marvel Ultimate Alliance more interesting (even though it could have been done much better,) and there are even less games made like that one. When Max was talking about how the genre could evolve, I think mixing a beat-em-up style game with Torchlight's weapon and active skill variety, as well as the loot drive, would be one means of making it do so. I just think being able to grapple enemies and have them collide with each other would make for a nice addition to a game like T2. There are other games somewhat like that already, it's just that the perspective is different and usually less favourable, as well as being a single player game.

So unless one of the classes in Grim Dawn is a beefy, salt-caked sailor who grapples monsters to their doom, I think I'll pass.

That is certainly strange considering you're on the forum of a game whose genre you don't like :-/ But whatever rocks your boat. Personally I would never go on the forum of a racing or a fighting game because I don't like it

I don't hate these sort of games. But I don't love them all either. I'm very picky with the games I play. I don't know why I would be all or nothing with something anyway. I'm a little more complicated than that.

sounds like a good idea for a TL2 mod that could spiral out of control and eventually become an original commercial release. Do eet.

The delivery date according to their kickstarter is August 2013. Definitely not gonna see it in 2012 lol who knows? Maybe this will give them the funding they need to get it out earlier.

"You're a backer"!

I'm intrigued by their "open-world" and factions concept, also find the Occultist a pretty interesting class. Wasen't a big fan of Titan Quest but if they've managed or manages to improve the combat gameplay in Grim Dawn it could be a cool arpg.

It's a shame that TQ got off to a rough start. That game is awesome and still has a gorgeous look even today. One of the best arpgs for sure. If you haven't played it yet you need to! Grim Dawn should be excellent and needs more support!

This gaming is looking great. So glad they went with a kickstarter almost 210k. Between this Torchlight and D3 I think my arpg fix will be good for the next 10 years.

219k. I'm glad, it seemed like it was really slowing down. I was wondering if they'd make it.

They made half their nut in the first 3-4 days and kept a consistent flow of pledges; I wasn't worried about them. The close one, for me, was Nekro.

They are currently doing an IAMA right now if anyone wants to join in. (It's basically a Q&A)

Ok folks. Crate is up to around $277k, with eleven days to go. Help spread the word. We've seen what Runic can do with a small team, a dream and a lot of love and community help. Crate might have a really small team but we can help them add a few people maybe and a little more polish, maybe even get the game out the door a teensy bit earlier. We're getting some awesome action/rpg's this year. Let's help continue the trend of really awesome action/rpg's next year, too.

6,666 backers. Hm, looks quite scary. 8-) Unfortunately this game will be finished after the end of the world. :(

I love how the doors explode in the gameplay footage they have. Ugly UI, but that's what the kickstarter is for.

Woot! They did it!

As of right now, they're up to $294,168...with ten days to go. That is so awesome. Kudo's to those who helped out by either donating or spreading the word.
