I have a 47 Templar in Merciless that I'd love to test some party builds around. In any case, consider this a noteworthy bump! :)

I have a 56 marauder in merciless who needs help. Once i hit 58 i have an axe i stashed that's a huge upgrade.

Hit me up whenever/if you have time to party :)

I am considering laying off it until open beta... or forever.

Or i might muster up the will to get my archer up to merciless... blegh 4 difficulties.

Yeah, something happens to the game post level 50 that just makes it far less enjoyable and far, FAR more grindy/punishing.

I really enjoy this game, I played it a ton and am now waiting for it to release so that I know I won't have to worry about character wipes again.

Update:

They are opening up for another public stress test this weekend for anyone still curious about the game. Also, I've updated my initial post with details on the sixth class that is coming with this weeks patch! :)

Tl2 beta rips out the spine of PoE beta and feeds it to PoE beta. It just outclasses PoE in "fun" for me so much so that I can't bring myself to attempt PoE again.

I have more fun watching the TL2 streams than playing PoE beta :(

OK, so many new updates to give about PoE...

First, their new end-game overhaul, maps, is truly exciting and far better than the current maelstrom of chaos difficulty setting. Secondly, Chris Wilson has been doing blips on youtube about strange and fun builds in their "build of the week" videos. Third, open beta is pegged for late August last time I checked so the end is nigh!

I really really find the concept that they have an 'endgame' to be distasteful. It means you're forced to grind through bland content before you get to the good stuff. I want a game to be fun from the moment I get to choose my character. As it's free I'll probably give it a chance but I just don't see myself getting past level twelve if it's exactly the same stuff that I experienced in the open beta weekends. I would really like to get to experience the new map content, as it sounds pretty cool, but I don't want to have to put in work to do so.

wow.. thnx for pointing this out, Brixtan
this map system is what I actually expected from Runic in TL2 - taking into account how maps worked in Mythos. Really interesting. Path of Exile is using some nice features there... skill gems, potions, now maps..

Just a quick bump, want to keep exposure on this game (love the devs at GGG). I haven't had time to play or follow along with the game as closely as I would like, but Incgamers just posted some brand new screenshots of Act 3! http://www.incgamers.com/2012/10/path-of-exile-act-iii-revealed-exclusive-shots/. Also in the interview is word that the game will finally hit open beta around December of this year - very cool indeed. :)

yea but theyre full of shit. a few months ago they said it would be in open beta in august, august came and went. i guess theyre just not ready to stop collecting money to allow people to play a "free" game. that fact alone will keep me from ever playing

made me LoL even more they just had ANOTHER "free" stress test weekend... what, number 5 now? just gimmicks to get more beta keys sold. this game will never enter open beta as long as they can sell beta keys. shameful

*shrug* Anonymous internet haters will hate.

The guys are a super small company, like 10 or so people I think? The game takes time. You probably don't recall, based on your less than intelligent comments, that they were originally shooting to hit open beta in January 2012 (back when the game just hit closed beta late last August/September when I first started playing it). Not sure why you're all butthurt over it. If you don't like it, then play something else. Rage about something worth raging about imo.

/Hug

@Ragnar - thanks for posting those screenshots! They look amazing! :)

*sigh* anonymous internet neckbeard fanboy gonna free advertise

Flouting your game as free to play, and then perpetually keeping it in a "closed beta" state that you force people to pay to enter... im sorry, thats just deceptive corporate business tactics and false advertising.

it has nothing to do with there being 10 people there or 1,000, nobody forced their hand to lie to people about when their "free" game would actually be available to play for "free". theres no reason it can't be in open beta right now other than the fact theyre trying to milk more money, even though the game is built to generate revenue on microtransactions.

I wont play and i dont support these corporate gimmicks theyre employing, only a sucker would. Runic managed to release torchlight without siphoning money off the public to play an unpolished beta, ill support a company like Runic.

LOL, I will just say that I got in beta for free, my brother got in it also for free after 6 months of waiting for beta key. So no, you dont have to pay to get to beta. Also the reason the game is not yet in open beta, is same as torchlight 2 was release in end of october, and not in 2011. Also, try not to call people sucker that support indie companies.

torchlight 2 wasnt released in 2011 because it wasnt finished, and they planned to sell the game ($20 to play). torchlight 2 wasnt built on microtransactions, and they never charged anyone to play a beta.

this is entirely opposite to poe. so why isnt poe free to play right now? has nothing to do with the game not being finished, thats for sure.

edit: thats cool your brother got to play for free after 6 months of waiting.

Torchlight was planned to be released in 2011 if you didn't know, they pushed the release to 2012. The same thing hapend to PoE. PoE is planed to be free, and it is, because i am playing the game for free, and never payed for the beta. Do you understand what I am writing? I am playing PoE for FREEE. It is not in open beta for the same reason as torchlight 2 was not released in 2011 when it was planned.
