I don't want to mod the game so it can be balance. Keep that speed only to save 15-20sec to pass through a map is no sense.

The character's movement speed is, by and large, appropriate in relation to those of its opponents. If it is fast, it is so by no more than ~5-10%.

Once one gets used to it (vs. other titles out there), not a problem. Besides, the game is supposed to be fast. TL2's movement speed helps to put the Action in ARPG.

More people tend to complain about games like this being too slow, rather than too fast. It's a problem with many MMOs too, one that I hope Runic certainly takes into account if/when they go down that route, as they have alluded to previously.

Walking through large, already-finished areas at slow speed, in order to get to other parts of the map, is also tedious. I'm glad that's no longer a problem.

I already fear what the notion of crowd sourcing game development may do to the skill trees; please don't let it sap TL2's movement speed.

Personally, I really thought the speed was spot on. As mentioned its better to be jaunty as opposed to sluggish. Remember that the 'Sprint/Stamina' mechanic these days has taken a backseat, which I'm ok with. That was one of the things about D2 that was a thorn in my side. I feel like TL2's pace is where I would want it to be, and in multiplayer games that is essential.
I feel like any speed adjustments would just be a pain because that means going through all skills and tweaking them accordingly. Torchlights engine just seems to feel faster than I think it actually is. Thats just me anyways.

Except that a number of people think the game is balanced just fine at the current speed it is, and anything slower would actually be worse because of how little kiting power you'd have.

The patched it up to have the enemies have bigger hitboxes while moving. Shouldn't be as big as an issue as before.

I am really a fan of the speed that was in the beta. It just seems to make everything flow well, I'm afraid a slower speed would make it tedious running around and make it more difficult for ranged classes. Please don't change the speed!

I think TL2's faster movement speed is fantastic. I don't think a run/walk hotkey is essential but it would be a nice option. If run speed needs to be slowed down to make combat more challenging, perhaps it could be adjusted so it's only slower while engaged in combat.

I think its a little too fast really , I click somewhere and he moves quite fast, I think its good to run distances but can be annoying while in combat specially with melee heroes! :D

My TL1 speed is my TL2 speed. The first mod I installed in TL1 was one that made me walk faster. I wouldn't mind if you started the game at 70% of the current speed and by the time you get to level 15 - 20 one of your stats resulted in the current speed (or slightly faster)

There are by now probably enough voices in both camps for Runic to take notice. Personally I'm all for slowing it down while your character level is low, and upping it through gear/stats (tied to dex perhaps) as you become more powerful. It'll be a nice little visual cue to differentiate lower levelled players from higher, and if I had my way, a little trail of fire animation following in your wake when your speed reaches a certain threshold. How cool would that be for a high levelled ranged character decked out in top end gear, hefting a huge cannon and leaving a blazing trail as he runs rings around his enemies?

The alternative, and an odd one at that, is for some gear - heavy armour and shields to be precise - to carry minus speed stats which grant substantial bonuses to armour (simulating the effect of heavy armour, as it were). It may lead to a slower moving but immediately recognizable tank character who cannot be put down and hits like a dumptruck thrown by the hulk.

I felt the speed of the game was refreshing from what we've been getting and compliments the genre correctly. +2

its nice that it is faster then diablo3 or other arpg games yes, but it isnt fun when it is to fast, they dont need to make it as slow as diablo 3 but not as fast as it is now.

I said it before in the beta forums. A happy medium would be keeping the movement speed faster than Torchlight 1 but slightly slower than the TL2 beta. I doubt anyone of us would complain so much if that was the outcome.

I'm not sure I'd survive against many of the mobs at a lower speed. If you want it lower, get a mod for it? I can make one for you.

No, I liked the movement speed as it was in the beta. However, if the majority of players want the movement speed to be slowed down some, I can live with that. I don't think it would ruin the game for me.

If your friends use it O.o I think they'll include the option to dl mods others have before you join a game if you want to do it. They already said mods will work in multiplayer.
