Suffering a gaming withdrawal

I come primarily from snes and ps1 gaming and some old pc gamign so I have a bigger tolerance. Too many old games, had to play them all.

Oh trust me I played a LOT of NES/SNES games. Even the ones that most people didn't like lol. My favorite SNES RPG of time is Lufia: Rise of the Sinistrals. I did like Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, but I felt like the sequel was just so much better. I also really enjoyed Illusion of Gaia (Soul Blazer 2), amazing game story and gameplay wise.

+1 That's my favorite games as well. Although there are a few more games I would add. Earthbound, Seiken Densetsu 1 & 3, and of course Mario RPG

Don't buy ANY big title unless you've played the demo and DO NOT listen to any review by gamespot, kotaku, ign, metacritic in general or pcgamer to a lesser extent.

I actually find Metacritic to be one of the ONLY legit places to get an idea about the quality of a game. Mind you there are games that barely have any reviews(on the user side) but for the most part, it's spot on, as long as you don't listen to the critic scores, it's all about the user score.

The other website I frequent is http://www.gamebanshee.com/ , which has THE best Crpg Community around. They specialize in all things Rpg plus their reviews are very well done and aren't littered with PR bullshit talk. Between Those 2 sites you can usually get an informed decision on whether or not you should pick a game up....your next Rpg anyways..

I'm 20, almost 21 and I get that problem most horribly.

This is my Steam game library (also have a fair number of non-Steam games), and yet... I'm quite bored a good deal of the time. I just don't feel like playing the games I have. I guess I often tend to get annoyed at parts of games and they just grate at me slowly until I can't play it anymore and shut it off.

Unfortunately I haven't really found things to fill in the void, because I'm lazy haha.

+1. I also think metacritic's user feedback is, mostly, spot on. Some of the rants are also funny to read and relate to.

As for what I'm doing I'm playing AoE2 (yes that friggen old game that ran on windows XP and 95 just fine) as well as THINKING of playing sims 3.

I've also been drawing and playing around with figure drawing and animal anatomy. Once tl2 is out though bam. obsession

As someone who has The Sims 3, and three of its expansions, I can tell you that it's rather buggy, and it just got buggier and buggier with every expansion I installed. Certainly it's fun, but the bugs, especially the ones in Late Night, are absolutely horrible. Some of the bugs make it nigh unplayable. In World Adventures, Sims kept getting stuck on certain terrain and making the game lag, and most excavation sites were buggy. In Ambitions, there were certain jobs that were buggy and would result in Sims being unable to finish them. In Late Night, the worst of all, Sims would all flock to certain locations and get stuck there until they starve to death and die. I was forever having to open the cheat console to reset all the sims in the game just to make it playable again for a little while, and then a while later I'd have to do it Again. It was really frustrating, and I can't recommend it.

Play Wolfenstein, Alan Wake, Witcher 2, Killing Floor, Divinity 2: The Dragon knight Saga, Limbo, Krater, AirMech, Aztaka, Binary Domain, etc.

The list of games worth playing is freaking endless, all you need to do is look. (and obviously have a pc that can handle it )

Think about it this way, if you die tomorrow what would you regret not doing? One of my possible regrets is to not have finished my gaming backlog because I was wasting time waiting for Torchlight 2 (which still doesn't have a release date) to come out.

if you're looking for something fun, and different I suggest contributing and receiving the most recent humble indie bundle. it's for charity and for at least 7.78 cents(although since it's for charity may want to donate more) you can get 5 great, award-winning light indie games that are super innovative and different.
if you get it, I recommend playing Amnesia in the dark. Naked.

Hmm, now that I have unholy amounts of free time, I realise the loss and gap of TL2.

Right now, as far as my gaming goes, I'm trying to pick which is the least boring



My router is on fire downloading updates and stuff from stream, only to get deleted shortly after, same thing for the dvd drive.



I think I need to get something new. Everything I'm trying is either already played, or just more of the same.


I think I'll just look for some new films and/or anime in the meantime.

I've started playing Dungeon Defenders and Bastion. They both fill my rpg need a bit. Got Bastion from the indie bundle, and I'm very happy with my purchase so far. It gave me a lot of other games to try out as well.

From what I've seen from the latest indie bundle, you're going to be very fine with it. All those games I have either heard about or played myself. Especially Bastion. Dat Narrator.

Lately, I seems to also play more indie titles or niche titles more than the big ones. Even on the DS(3DS is just a DS for me right now.): I've played EO and EOIII, hence my avatar and right now, I should dig more into SMT:DS2. I've played shantae as well. The one thing that boggles my mind the most though is that I have played sonic generations(PC version) a lot. almost 30 hours clocked on that thing for no real reason.

Then again, I've never purchased the more 'hot' games out there, even if they are games I'd truly like to play.
