4 days after Dark Souls (PC) .. and possibly (guess) near Guild wars 2 release. If this is real, brilliant timing Runicgames  ...
I hope this is all a rumor, why would a bunch of website report on a rumor though?

I know right -.- . The worst part is releasing it near the start of school for pretty much the entire Americas.

Still hopeful that these websites are a month off, and the real release date is actually July 28th :D

Well it is still summer but the majority of us that have school or university that picks up right around then wont have anytime left in their "summer" to play the game.

... so you bought the game to play during the summer and otherwise wouldn't have bought it? We all would appreciate playing the game earlier if we could, but for the sake of their business they would be better off polishing the game as best they can for a solid release. They have their regrets in the past between the release of Torchlight & what happened after leaving Blizzard North. This game is sort of their atonement blessing. To make the game the way they would have preferred it; without a time limit or a tiny budget. The first Torchlight gave them the money they needed to really kick off the series and I'm assuming with the assuredly successful release of Torchlight II they will continue forward to make games this way. Release dates are nice and all, but I would rather see the company put in an honest effort to make the release date and push if deemed necessary, than to go under pressure like most developers under the whip of their publisher to meet deadlines.

Not saying i wouldn't of bought it, I just thought i would be able to play it in July rather than August, it's no tragedy to me if i have to wait. I'm in the same boat as everyone else here and I want Runic to release a game that they feel they've done a great job on and is worthy of carrying on the torchlight story. I didn't mean to sound impatient, August sounds late but if that's what it takes to make a good game then by all means do it.

I agree, when school rolls around I'll barely have enough time to play around school, job, GF, and friends.

I would have still bought the game even if it wasn't going to be released in the summer, and I also want to see the game not be another D3 (uhhghg) so I want it to be as polished as possible. Also with the new nerf to D3... can't even play anymore, RIP D3. Anyway, it's just slightly disheartening, I'm not saying that I hate the game for them making it better.

This could be seen as an indictment of the 24-hour news cycle and the relentless urge to be first with the story... actual investigation and checking of sources tends to fall by the wayside, which can lead to opinions and rumors being not being clearly identified as such - or, worse, presented as facts.

Well, here's to waiting for an official release date from the Runic team, and not jumping to conclusions about a "destroyed summer" without having our facts right! ;)
Sure, I too would love having this game in my hands YESTERDAY, and certainly not 4 days after that darn Demon Souls is finally ported to the PC, but hey, you know what? If this game turns out really as good as I feel it has the potential of being, it just might happen that we won't need "the summer vacation" to play it, but rather the next year or five to do so! Who needs a rushed product? God knows D3 has dissapointed me like no other game in the history of gaming, already. Don't need another letdown because of impatient fans and/or publisher.

Soonish!

Obviously, Dark Souls.
Just now getting to morning coffee, so I am excused from partaking in any sort of intellectual activity before that

Speaking of Dark Souls, I can't wait to see what kind of port it will be. If it doesn't appear to have too many bugs and isn't frame locked at 30 or something, then I probably won't mind buying it even with the lack of kb + mouse support. I don't mind popping a Ps2 controller. I would probably prefer it anyway.

If Runic were to release this game in the states as a boxed version, then I will personally release a video of me dry humping Zidders.

They won't. Only in Germany & Russia. German version is MULTI-2 language: German/English, so you can grab it for 20EUR from Amazon.de

Um, if the digital download release and the German boxed release should fall within the same one or two weeks, I might wanna wait for the boxed version (even if that costs Runic some bucks, for which I'm sorry). :|

No need to feel sorry. If you purchase the boxed version more of your euros end up staying in Germany and theoretically help out the local economy :)

I don't wanna dive into European financial issues here, but Snarkyneno for sure has a point.

Did somebody actually found/read the source, the "Press Release" of Daedalic?

I could not find it, so I just asked the question on their (Daedalic) forums what is true of this.

Putting it out around the time Dark Souls released sucks. And anywhere around the time Guild Wars 2 comes out, REALLY SUCKS.

I was hoping I would get my hands on TL2 and game it hxc until GW2 was active. Heres hoping! :|

It actually doesn't really matter when TL2 is released because there will always be some other games released at the same time. There is always someone for whom the release date sucks. If Runic payed heed to all these complaints, they probably wouldn't be able to release the game, ever.

It seems that this "Press Release" went straight to the press without any public announcement from Daedalic, so far.

This page: http://www.pressebox.de/inaktiv/daedalic-entertainment-gmbh/boxid/517555 seems to confirm that there really was a press release directly from Daedalic, but as pointed out by Runic: As long as it doesn't come from Runic, it's only unofficial rumors.

(Sorry for the double post.)
