[Workaround] Stuck Characters

I am also having the same problem. The level I am currently in is closed bye invisible geometry. I tried opening console no luck. Also the portal to town and back didn't work. Can someone please reload this level for me. I would be very grateful. Here is my character.

For anyone having trouble activating the Console:

I was having the same issue as everyone else in that I couldn't get the console to activate and whenever I ran the game, the option for it in settings.txt would reset. Nothing seemed to fix it such as making the file read-only. I saw someone else's post where they shared their settings.txt and noticed the value for whether they'd beaten the game once or not and they had. I hadn't. When I changed my value for beating the game, it unlocked the console for me and now it's working. Not sure if this is actually the solution, it just worked for me.

GAME_COMPLETED_ONCE :0 to GAME_COMPLETED_ONCE :1 (And also change the option for CONSOLE :0 to :1)

Here's a link to my save game if anyone can get her back to town for me, i've easily put close to 10 hours in it.

I hope you guys patch this soon, as its super easy to get stuck in these stairwell areas.

I left her on floor 22 a few steps away from where you were stuck,
I picked up the gold that was lying there

the neatest thing about helping people get unstuck is seeing all the cool armor everyone has
everyone has such cool and different looks

Screwed with the setup to no end, it saves the value as console: 1 but I can't bring up a console anyway regardless of what tweaks I try from this thread.

Also, I hope this is the right save file, I made one of each class in the demo before I went and bought it... http://www.sendspace.com/file/m40tki should be a destroyer in some level 32ish dungeon.

I'm in one of those portal places the quest guy sends you in, so I wonder what ascend would even have done if I could have gotten the console to work as I'm on floor 1.

Alas, doing a portal quest on my Vanquisher has resulted in her being stuck in a boulder. No joy with the console or town portal (as it's a portal quest, and I'm guessing the console doesn't work properly on the steam version). Anyone able to free the character for me? Save file here

Thank you for helping me JamesL. Actually teleport into town wasn't the problem for me. Walking into a hall from stairs on Lost fortress Floor 28 is a problem. I can't walk away from stairs.

This is pretty frustrating and surprising. When it first happened I closed the game without exiting by doing it in task manager in an effort to avoid the stuck save and still my save file was overwritten.

I can't believe there are no backups of save games. Seems almost fundamental to have at least 2-3 save versions by the way.

I have tried all of the suggestions in the thread including using skill points to train myself the charge like spell. I am in the 2nd level of a map that I purchased and can not use a portal.

Console does not work running steam full version.

Any help appreciated if someone can help ascend him link included below.

I also got stuck on my guy. im in the lava area and a boss knocked me into the corner. im stuck between a torch and a thing on the floor and i cant move at all or use tp. can someone please unstuck me? my settings file keeps resetting, and i cant figure out why. Thanks in advance,

I'm stuck, but not completely. I can't progress in the game any further because my once my character enters the latest level, he can't exist the staircase. I can get back to town or back to the previous level but I can't continue the game.

Is there some sort of teleport in the console I could use? I'm using steam and haven't checked to see if I can even use the console yet.

Warhawk above me seems to have the exact same problem I am.

tell me I'm not crazy, but everytime I download your file its a vanquisher named Vana, who doesn't look anything like the pic you posted

oh, and I just brought all of you back to the entrance of the floor you were on, so you'll have to walk back to where you were to get your loot
