LVL&SkillModV2.5.2 Raise lvl to 999, fame to 200 & skills 30

Level And Skill Mod

This mod raises your max level to 999, fame to 200 and skills to 30

in this mod:
- edited experiencegate.dat to add levels up to 999
- edited famegate.dat to add fame to 200
- added skillevels up to 30 for every character. Meaning the Alchemist, the Destroyer, the Vanquisher and their common passive skills (such as dual-wield and armor mastery etc.) are all raised to 30 (there's a few exceptions: see version history)
- added new tiers of items called legendary (based on the ancient tier 3 mod by SvK) with items from level 60-90, heavenly(lvl150-190) and Godly(lvl500+)
- see more changes at here

Bugs:
- high level champions may give you an extraordinary amount of experience causing you to gain several levels sometimes showing you to have more experience then you need for the next level.
- if you have a previous version of my lvlmod with the legendary items, then when you update to a newer mod you may lose your current legendary items. a workaround is to replace the \media\units in the new mod with your \media\units from the old mod. *should not be an issue from v2.5 and up
- if you already have a mod that adds tiers torchlight may crash or show graphical glitches because of the huge amount of files (workaround is to either delete the old tiers or delete the tiers that come with this mod.)

Possible future additions:
- adding more tiers of items (when torchlight doesn't crash from too many files)
- adding more ranks to the common spells (such as fireball, summon skeleton etc.)
- find a way to scale boss monsters better

- Extract the mod to %appdata%\runic games\torchlight\mods

- seems like there was a problem with item drops somewhere around lvl 200-400+. to fix this i edited all the base items and added max level 999 to them

lvlmod v1.2
- you will find high lvl items for low lvl characters. the cause is my fix for items not dropping at very high lvls, instead of changing the base items i changed the tier2 items adding maxlvl 999 to them also added a modified version of the tier 3 ancient items mod by SvK.

lvlmod v1.2a
- instead of changing the tier2 items i only used the modified version of the tier 3 ancient items mod by SvK, modified to make it work with this mod (the mod adds items from lvl 60-100, i named them legendary to maintain compatibility with the ancient mod)

LvlandSkillmod v2.5.1
- removed godly tier, seems that having too many tiers caused unwanted graphical glitches such as characters appearing nude etc. I may add the tier back when/if runic fixes the issue with having too many files. meanwhile if you want the godly tier download it from v2.5 from the version history.

- bugfix: monsters higher then lvl 999 didn't drop items, upped maxlevel on heavenly items to 9999 which should fix it.

Fame, is it possible to raise it? Or 55 is the max

i can increase the fame too, but there's not that much point in doing so, by the time you have 55 fame you will probably have all the skillpoints you need.

i will increase it to 200 that should be enough for anything.

ok i've create a test character and used the console, took me quite sometime to learn how to activate the console..

Just to make a clarification, i don't cheat (: Just create this character to try on the mod, just love to see level 999 fighting lv 10,000 mobs ! That's awesome enough !


Oh! Skill point will be 999 too! With 55 fame, it will over shot to the point of 1054 skill points! :lol:

haha! not sure if 154 points is enough for all the skill, well, extra skill point is not a bad thing, but overall the fame level is 1 thing to show off too! Though this is single player, we can show our friends how awesome and flexible this game can be!

Well, the mod has been tested, exp is not hardcoded, so it's nicely done, try the fame ? haha :D



Just realise that we will gain 999 skill points cause of level too! haha, seems that we have too much of a talent to spare here eh

good luck getting to lvl 999 and fame to 200.

haha you tested for the fame?

If so then i'll skip the beta testing for you(:
I'll go on with my leveling.

P.S I used vanquisher and leveled to 999 and the arrow rain is so powerful that it causes over 40000 damage on ordrak on VH mode ! hahahaha. After my destroyer completes the story mode, I might try vanquisher !

i haven't tested fame, but it's the same as the level file so since lvling works i assume fame will work too.

Shame that you can't put points into skills past 10. if you could raise max skill level from 10 to 20 that'd be prettty cool. Otherwise, great mod.

I would hope that maybe we could level the skill up to level 30, 10 is too little I guess haha..

Perhaps we could have a mod on that, or wait for the patch that might be updating it :lol:

Expanding the skills is definately easily done. Max investment and the stats are right there in the skill files to edit. As well,I thought I posted this, but, can't find my post. I wonder why Infer_past_end boolean doesn't work on the fame or EXP bits. Maybe just cause there's not a really good pattern to follow or something.

But, anyways! I tested as well, it's currently working like a charm.

Are there names for the Fame ranks past 55, or does it just remain the same?

There was an old game called yserbius/twinion , it had near infinite levels, made it pretty fun. I was just wondering if it was possible.

I'm getting no more ranks for fame, and i'm only at 30-40ish (cant recall :x) Not sure when i stopped getting them, but every rank is the same from now on.

I can make a huge ass list of "titles", those would work for fame names, right? I'd probably need all the originals in an (ordered) list too though.

As a game designer I recommend 25, 35 or 40 max points per skill. This is just intuition, to be fair, but those three numbers "smell right", so to speak.
